Tasting at Volo. Light yellow colour, some booze and honey in the aroma. Bitterscotch and some non-honey flavours, not all of the characteristics of taste that great, but still a drinkable mead with average mouthfeel.

LCBO vintages panel tasting- A pale, pale yellow. Nose of candy and honeyed fruit, some caramel and vanilla. Very sweet vanilla is first in flavours with minerality, honeyed fruit again, candy, some earthyness. Sweet, medium light body, with a lingering fruity finish. Good.

[1533-20080719] Bottle. Vanilla butterscotch beeswax aroma is reminiscent of "bubblegum powder" and dry wood. Clear, white yellow body with no head. Wooden honey flavour has sweet dry honey hints mixed with heavy vanilla dry wood notes. Medium body has sweet mid notes. Different, drinkable.

2008-07-19. Very pale yellow body, headless. Aroma strongly reminds me of hockey card bubblegum and light florals. The staff explain that the gum was often coated in beeswax, hence the comparison. Intriguing, regardless I quite liked it. Sweet flavour up front with light honey and fruit, and a very light dry-tartness in the finish to off-set the sweetness a touch. Average palate. Light overall, but quite pleasant. Very aromatic. Bottle, 2006 Vintage, at the winery.
