Cask in the market porter. Alround rating: Roasty malts, fairly thin, earthy sweetness, hay like hop character. An interesting and different mild due to the earthy character.

Cask@GBBF2009. Black colour, not much head. Aroma is wooden and grassy along with some quite dry smoked wooden notes and liquorice. Flavour quite the same with dark berries and chocolate as well.

Cask@GBBF. Almost opaque brown color, no head. Light roasted, coffee notes, but also some blackberries and odd aromas. Light coffee, herbal hoppy notes.

Cask at the Three Mariners, Hythe. Chocolate brown with a reddish tint and a scummy looking cream head; malty aroma; thin milky texture with subdued roast malt flavours; gently bitter with a peaty finish. Pleasant but slightly disappointing.

Cask conditioned at Merton Winter Beer Fest 09. Dark red brown with cream head. A fairly straight forward mild with a light roasty body, background woody, nutty flavours. Smooth on the palate and maybe a little short, but overall a very decent beer.
