Commercial Description:
A balanced American Style Pale Ale using Crystal Malts and Mt. Hood Hops providing a smooth finish. A great session beer.

4 oz. sample @ brewpub - dark gold with spotty white head; dry and malty with nice level of sweetness; another nice APA that doesn’t get caught up with the excessive hopping; not remarkable, but well crafted, which is my main take on my visit to rubicon

Got a taste from the tap at Rubicon. This brew was decidedly weak and uncomplex. There was some thought that it tasted lagerish, although had the characteristics of a Pale. Overall, it was a mild version of what I expect from the genre.

On tap at Hamilton’s in San Diego, CA--Copper-amber body with a scant white head. Biscuity malt nose with evidence of mild bitter hops. Slight metallic presence. Crisp, mildly oxidized. Nothing special but worth a try.

Draft pint at the brewpub. Amber beer with just a thin top. Tangy, with a metallic hop, and a light caramel flourish. Sessionable, surely. (#3419, 4/12/2008)

Fairly average Pale Ale. Light, malty, bready flavor. The nose is classic brewers yeast. There is a nice bite in the aftertaste though, so its not a total loss.
