Commercial Description:
Have one for the king
This extra special bitter was brewed using Golden Promise Pale Malt and crystal malt from Simpson's Maltings in Golding. East Kent Golding Hops are used exclusively. Smooth and malty with a nice hop finish.

On tap at Beechwood BBQ. Definitely one of the better esb’s on the market. Pours deep tan, with a thin head a malty aroma. Taste is malts up front, with some hoppy accents and a definite fruit finish. Defintely one to pick up.

On tap at Beachwood BBQ. Also labeled just "Rubicon ESB" A little grainy and more citrusy with the hops than bitter like I am used to with this style. It wasn’t bad and went quite alright with the BBQ. However, it was not quite what I was looking for in this style.

On tap as Rubicon ESB at the Davis Beerfest. 6 ounce sample. Orange, citrus, floral, lightly musty hop aroma. Seems like EKGs. Moderately hazy amber body with a small, quickly dissipating white head. Orange citrus hop flavors present early on. Becomes roasted and grainy with cereal flavors in the middle. Finishes with a moderate bitterness and more herbal bitter hop flavors. Not too bad.

Tasted on tap at the 2nd Annual Drakes IPA Festival. This ESB/bitter pours a light to medium amber color. Large sized white foamy head. Aroma is caramel, malty and sweet. A medium bodied ESB. The malts are caramel and sweet. The hops are floral and earthy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Nice rendition of the traditional English ESB. Good session ale. Malts are full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
