Pours a transparent mahogany with ruby hues and a spotty-lacing light tan head. Aroma of lightly sweet, doughy caramel malts with a touch of milk chocolate character. Body starts a little thinner and effervescent with some mild roasty and chocolatey malts before a drier, coffee finish. Finishes smooth and bittersweet with some lingering roasted maltiness.

12oz Bottle dark redish brown topped with a tan head. A nice roast on the nose. Pretty light on the palate not as thick and full as I was looking for. Tast of a little chocolate and coffee. Not bad.

Bottle: Pours a deep chestnut brown with a large tan head. Nose is roasty and mocha tones, fairly mild. Flavor is light on the coffee and roast, subtle chocolate and bitters. Call this a porter if you will, but it feels like a brown ale...

Bottle: Clear brown color with an off-white head. Tangy chocolate aroma. Typical porter flavors of coffee grounds and hints of smoke. The feel is thin and slippery. The brew isn’t incredible, but fine.

Bottle obtained in the beer swap v2.0 from cbkschubert (thanks!). Brown color without a head at all. Smell is coffee, chocolate, roasted malts, some hops. Taste is sweet and rich, toasted and coffee flavor. Not really much to this one, but its refreshing and seems to do the trick. Solid porter.

Bottle. This is about as fine an example of a Brown Porter as we can expect on this continent. It has a deep brown color and a fine head. The nose is chocolate malt coupled with inviting British floral hops. The flavour follows through perfectly and if anything the complexity is enhanced by some additional caramel and dark malts but it does not loose its floral hop backdrop. I tasted this side by side with Sierra Nevada Porter and this one dropped Sierra Nevada off the table. Much more complex and long lasting. A finely crafted beer - well worth seeking out.
