[Cask from The Abbotsford] Pale gold colour, moderate head. Light and fruity aroma, raw grain, very metallic. Thin, watery body, EXTREMELY metallic, like sucking a rusty nail. Bloody horrid.

Cask@WetherspoonsWebley. Toffee and light herbal aroma. Amber colour, irregular off-white head, no lace. Sweet, light malty, light caramel, herbal to grassy, very bitter. Dryish mouth feel.

Cask, full pint, handpulled at Wetherspoons The Flying Horse. Cellar cold, according to the pump clip. Amber in body colour, quite clear, and with a tiny, beige head. Withered floral aroma. The taste gave some of the same withered impression with moments of caramel malts, dry hops and a touch of spices. Rounded bitterness. Drinkable, but lacking freshness and far from being in its best condition (at Gatwick airport, 08.08.2009).

Cask@The Knights Templar. Copper colour, mediumsized white foamy head, some lace. Caramel malts, wood and some bready notes. Flavour is wood, some grass and mildly bready and earthy as well.

Cask at Wetherspoons in Macclesfield. Weak and watery with bland caramel and slight citrus and malts. Averageness. Not impressed.

Cask at The Regal (Wetherspoons), Cambridge. Orange with a short head. Not much scent. Slightly sweet. Flat. Hoppy with some lemon and straw malts in the mouth but really quite bland.

Cask (like it matters), Hinckley Spoons. Timid grassy lemon barley, cherry and hay notes. Dusty gold freckled with lace. Orange citrus hints on nose only because I’m looking. Herbal hints, barley sweets, candy floss, caramel stillness. Not a bad beer technically but homogenised into dullness. Didn’t even know it existed before tonight. And I’m still not convinced.
