swoopjones (1115), Buffalo, New York, USA Aug 13, 2008 Bottle. Pours a golden orange with some floaties. Aroma has soft hop presence & some citrus grapefruity. Taste is smooth but rather tame in terms of hops. I think the bottle maybe a bit dated hence the lack of hoppiness. Pretty good phishpond417 (1418), Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA Aug 12, 2008 Pours a clear orange colour with a medium sized white head. Creamy on the palate. Not a whole lot of hops, or at least as much as one would expect for an IPA. Slightly piney with grapefruit, lime and soft spicey flavors. thejoeshow (110), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 4, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a bright yellow color. It is a lot lighter than I expect for IPAs. My bottle had a large amount of agitated sediment floating around. I am assuming this is not very normal so I am paying no attention to it. Head is crisp white with nice lacing but a little lacking on retention. The nose is wonderful! It has a dominating aroma of fresh hop pellets. Very nice! Nice citrus hops that are not too in your face and overwhelming, just right. Flavor is nice and creamy. Malt starts it all out quickly filled by that citrus hops you find in the nose. This is what I expect IPAs to do, be overly hop heavy with just enough malt backbone to make sure everything isn’t out of whack. Mouthfeel is just a tinge in the syrupy side but not too bad. A nice beer that I have overlooked for a long time. jbuzz (465), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jul 29, 2008 Single from Three Cellars Milwaukee. Not very hoppy but still a good IPA. Grassy and earth tones. JPDIPSO (4233), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Jul 22, 2008 Lightly hazed dark golden color. Moderate off-white head that settles rather quickly to a thin lid of small bubbles and a few isles of lace. Mild green grassy hops and earthy malt. I catch a touch of orange soap as well. Nice feel to this one. lightly oily and slick with just enough zip to keep it alive. LIght malt sweetness with some citric zest. Middle is full of citrus and light pine. A bit sharp and unforgiving in flavor. Perhaps a touch thin in the malt for my tastes. Linger is nice with a bit of malt and toffee.
