Syd (741), Twin Cities Metro, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle pours a particulate laden hazed straw yellow with a monster head that looks like it will linger and cling; head becomes like whipped cream on a late. Were it not for all the floaters, the appearance score would be perfect. The aroma is citrus hops with some sweetness. The flavor is of sweet malt foundation with some grapefruit and pine to balance it out. The palate is creamy and the carbonation restrained. Overall, this is another fine beer from these guys!
Two_Dudes (29), Louisville, Kentucky, USA Oct 12, 2008 Bottle - from trade with pepperford - I think the bottle may have been a bad one. Opened with no psst at all. Poured and the tiniest wisp of carbonation created a "head" that wasn’t really even a head. Nose was muted and not really even there. Decent balance, I guess, on the palate. I couldn’t get too many hops on this one, so maybe it wasn’t supposed to be this way. I will re-rate if I can get my hands on another bottle. However, the one I had was very dissapointing. MatSciGuy (261), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA Oct 11, 2008 [Bottle] Pours an almost clear gold with a small soapy off white head. Aroma is citric hops with a little caramel malt. Flavor is a little woody/earthy, nice hops, and a bit bitter on the finish. Ughsmash (3082), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Oct 8, 2008 Bottled. Poured medium golden with a whole helluva lot of sediment floating around in there. The aroma was nice and juicy with candied oranges and a bit of bubblegum leading.. it was so sweet that I had trouble finding anything behind. The flavor wasn’t a surprise after that nose.. sweet sugary orange candies all over with a bit of spicy floral bitterness and orange zest around.. finished with an odd sweet and bitter contrast. Medium-bodied and juicy on the palate with a very sweet complexion.. kinda hard to drink. sneagrams3 (1453), St. Louis, Missouri, USA Sep 28, 2008 Tasted 9/24/08. Thanks Keir! 12oz bottle. Largely sedimented with a copper hue. Trace white head. Fruity floral apple aromas. Bright hoppy nose. Medium bodied and bright yet bitter. Zippy and crisp palate. Slightly sticky finish, but the bitterness lingers longer. Not over the top, but a good palate. Sediment is the only dissapointing aspect, but that’s only visual. Everyday session drinking! esjaygee (830), Oak Creek, Wisconsin, USA Sep 28, 2008 Cloudy golden yellow-orange with a slowly fading white head full of floating hops. Aroma of heavy floral hops, bread, dough and citrus. Taste of heavy hops as well, floral and citrus, mildly vegetal. Pine and some sweet malt to balance it out that lead way to a semi bitter finish. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.
