Better than some and good enough to give to the inlaws on Thanksgiving. piscator34 (1133), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 2, 2009 Draft sample at Black Sheep Pizza. Gold in colour with minimal haze and medium carbonation. Aromas are of white toast and lemon curd. Flavors are of mild bramble fruit esters (like those produced from British ale strains, weird I know), more lemon, bubblegum, and sweetish pale malts. Drying on the finish. Doesn’t really resemble a German Hefeweiss (where’s the banana, clove and vanilla?), but somewhat succeeds as a plain old golden ale. BVery (561), Burnsville, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 10, 2009 TAP: cloudy gold hefe, wheat on the nose. Just some hop/edge on taste, this is missing most of the good hefe character. Not great. bwide (5), Alabama, USA does not count | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 5, 2009 On Tap. It is a fine beer, not something that’s going to make your "Must-Have" list, but fine, just the same. Agree with a couple of previous commenters that there is something a bit off once it leaves your mouth. That being said, it falls in the middle. Decent beer. noncaloric (625), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 7, 2009 Hazy gold color, pale sediment, big white head with good retention and lace. Faint malt aroma. Flavor has cream-soda maltiness balanced by yeast. Tasty on the front, but the finish is somewhat off, a bit of wet dog there. Medium bodied, foamy palate. thejoeshow (232), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 27, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a light straw/golden color with a nice white head that has decent retention but falls a little short on the lacing. Aroma is very nice. There are hints of sweet candy and a touch of malt. Flavor is very nice as well. Normally golden ales don’t really impress me but this beer has it. Lots of flavor, mostly caramel flavors, a little sweet and just a slight bitterness to make it very balanced. WOW! I like this beer. jbuzz (661), South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
