Syd (722), Twin Cities Metro, Minnesota, USA May 16, 2008 Bottle pours a slightly hazed amber with a small white head that leaves some lace. The aroma is of hops and amber sweetness - smells great. The flavor is sweet, yeasty, fruity, peaches, malty, white pepper, caramel, and sugar cookies. The flavor has it all - much more interesting than most Amber Ales. The palate rocks as it is rich and cleansing. This is a real good Amber! I’ll get this again.
JPDIPSO (4210), Wauwatosa, Wisconsin, USA Aug 4, 2008 Hazy, light umber color with a few "swinkles" floating about. Moderate, stable light ecru head. Nice hoppy nose. Hints of light fruit, toasted malt and caramel as well. The flavors return to the ambers to which I am accustomed. Light fruit and caramel start. Middle has a touch of orange citrus as the hops start top move in. Finish has some toasted malt and a little more fruit ( in the form of apricots and raisins). LInger has a woody hops and bit of acidity. Overall a slightly hoppier amber and better than many.
