Commercial Description:
Traditionally brewed for Octoberfest, Russell Marzen is a copper-coloured lager with rich, toasted malt aroma balanced by the clean bitterness of German Hops and distinct noble hop aroma.

Mild aroma of toasted malts and lightly spicy hops. Clear copper coloured body is topped by a shy, large bubbled, off white head that recedes to a thin partial cover. Toasted malts are strong in the flavour with light offsetting bitterness and some spicy noble hop character. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Tulip glass. Just above fridge temperature. Bottled on Sep 30, 2009, purchased at Brewery Creek in Oct-09.

From Brewery Creek. Good time of year, this, when the Marzens and Octoberfests come out to play. Poured an attractive clear and rich copper beneath a thin and creamy ivory head. Aroma was scarce, perhaps some malt notes here, but the taste more than atoned for the lack of nose. Delicious and tasted more-ish. Good malting yet not overly sweet.
