Commercial Description:
Aud Blonde may be the lightest colored beer we have ever brewed at Russian River Brewing Company, but don't be fooled into thinking that this beer is light in flavor. It has a refined characteristic, which can be contributed to us blending pilsner malt with a unique hop called crystal. The distinctive characteristic of the crystal hop lends a citrus, almost eucalyptus quality in the aroma and mouth feel of the brew, while leaving the beer with a long dry finish.

The second tap we finished at City Beer. Nose was very lemongrassy - Warrior hops? Flavor was like spiced Sprite and grain. Seemed anemic, especially in color. Pilsner malt indeed.

on tap @ RR. poured a clear yellow. Bready, spiced yeast nose. Flavor is a clean malty taste with some grassy notes. Finishes dry.

On tap @ the brewpub. Clear yellow with a small white head, fading to a film. Aroma of biscuity malts. Flavor has a slightly earthy biscuity malt presence up front. Bitterness peaks @ a 3 in the slightly biscuity finish. Light body, moderate prickly carbonation. It is what it is.

Does not do much for me. If I were hard pressed to drink a Golden, I’d choose many others. Aroma is slightly fruity. Flavor is slightly sweet.

Tap at the brewpub: Very pale golden pour with a dense white lacing head. Mild and dry aroma- crackery, grassy and crisp, quite nice. Light and fluffy on the palate. Dry flavor- crackery base under grassy light lemony hop notes (tastes like a noble variety). Dry throughout and crisp. I can drink this all day!

Draught at the brewpub. Light yellow with a creamy white head. Clean doughy, bready malt aroma. Light bready malt profile with a surprisingly ample, spicy hop balance. Light bodied and crisp with smooth carbonation. Considering that this was the "lightly hopped" of their two blond ales, I was surprised at the nice, spicy hop flavor. Great balance, and somewhat reminiscent of a pilsener. Top notch choice for a session beer.

On tap at the brewery. The keg was tapped out from the previous evening, so I waited for a new one. It poured light blonde with a fluffy white head, and had a fresh floral aroma. The pilsner malt was tasty, but the overall flavor is a bit flat. The flavor, though, is saved with some nice hopping.
