Commercial Description:
Aud Blonde may be the lightest colored beer we have ever brewed at Russian River Brewing Company, but don't be fooled into thinking that this beer is light in flavor. It has a refined characteristic, which can be contributed to us blending pilsner malt with a unique hop called crystal. The distinctive characteristic of the crystal hop lends a citrus, almost eucalyptus quality in the aroma and mouth feel of the brew, while leaving the beer with a long dry finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Pale golden color with a fine white head. Light hop aroma. Very mild flavor of floral hop and a little grain. Finish is quite clean; lightly sweet.

Draft @ the brewpub. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma. Sweetish malty hoppy flavor with some grainy hints. Has a sweetish malty slightly hoppy finish with some bitterness in the aftertaste.

(10/28/08) Draught sample at the brewpub in Santa Rosa. Rather malty aroma. Clear golden. Sweetish bready flavor with light diacetyl notes and light bitterness in the finish. Medium-bodied. OK.

On tap at the brewpub. Color was gold with alot of carbonation streams. White head. Aroma of must, wheat, honey, and flowers. Flavor was pretty dry and musty, with alot of bread and wheat. Ok.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was hazy gold with an off white head. The aroma was sweet pears with some bread crust. The taste was slightly sweet with some oranges and bread crust. There was some bitter peanut in the finish. Good for the style.

Flavorful with a good nuttiness and a little bit of depth of flavor...For the style that is. Less thin and has much more going on than the normal blond ale. A boring beer made to serve the people at their brewpub who want budweiser. But, like everything else they make its amazing (for the style at least). After reading the description of eucalyptus, I think that hits the mark.

Draft @ Russian River. Pours a clear, light-golden color; white head with good retention and gorgeous fine-bubbled lacing. Nicely dry, crisp aroma of sugar and toasty crackers and light minerals. Medium mouthfeel: lots of crisp mineral bitterness and toasty malts; very dry core, and very drinkable; beautifully put-together blonde ale; I could (and should) drink a ton of this. Medium finish: dry mineral bitterness and plenty of toast.

Sampler at the RR Brewpub (Santa Rosa, CA). Poured with a straw yellow body, sizable head for the time it sat. Mellow sweetness on the nose and in the taste. Sweetness reminds of bready cakey light sweetness mixed with just a splash of bittering. Smooth and simple, a good "Gateway" beer for many and a brewe my girlfriend liked a bunch.
