Very dry with lively spritzy mouthfeel. Citric acidity mixes with wood and strawberry. Fairly light bodied with near Cantillon-like acidity. Fresh and flavourful. Really good, but yet not my favourite from this excellent brewer. ante (2931), Stockholm, Sweden

Huge, in-your-face, acidic aroma of grapefruit, wood, lemon and hot spices. Woody and acidic flavour of grapefruit, orange-peels, imatured grapes and dust. Feels quite light-bodied. Long and really acidic finish of lemon-peels and wood. I loce this stuff. Great! boboski (1095), Alabama, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | May 1, 2007 Batch 1. Very cloudy orange pour looks like it has pulp particles integrated into it. Appears the same as a fresh, lively gueuze. Thin, mostly diminishing, soft and pure white head. A gentle looking beer that will prove anything but gentle on the tastebuds. Compact bubbles and amazing looking teardrop lacing. Aroma is acute and powerful. As soon as the cork pops, I can smell this monster from afar. Sweet mustiness leads in a bold blend. Lightly spiced funk, truffles and sea salt and black pepper follow. That precedes hay and wheat, oak barrels(very favorable and buttery), subtle barnyard notes that are mind-bending in complexity. The nose is so ridiculously Belgian in inspiration and comprehension. Carries some of the same revelatory notes as a Drie Fonteinen lambic, as did the Depuration. This one is even more exciting to bask in. Quite different flavor than the aroma. Explosive! Lovely citrus is lemon focused. Highly acidic, works great here, cutting through all the nuances but not overpowering a single one of them. Medium bitterness and a heavy and coating tannic bite is nicely offset by buttery oakiness. The absolute base of this beer reminds of Mer Soliel chardonnay, even more impeccable than the aforementioned wine that I’ve adored for many years. The body has range, from medium-light to medium-full, seemingly changing during each sip. Lively carbonation cuts through the heavy oakiness in the mouthfeel. Finishes off-dry, clean and puckering. Stupefying. jason (1621), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

Poured a hazy off color yellow with a nice thin head. Aroma is funk - barnyard - and a noticable nutty smell. Flavor is sweetened and the same nutty taste, slightly sour with a little funk, dry and highly carbonated. Sweet flavor on the tongue but leaving it dry...then making the tastebuds want more...Too bad I only have a 12.7 oz bottle ... TChrome (1299), Bedford, Texas, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Bottled PH1: Beer pours hazy dark honey color with mostly dissipating head. Aroma is an amazing amalgm of vinegar, barnyard funk and massive brett. Flavor is delicously sour, but in a totally restrained fashion. Also a light, very not fake, cherry fruit finish. Palaate is perfect. A world class beverage; I sat on this rating for way too long. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Apr 22, 2007 Bottle. PH1. Pours a cloudy, nearly murky, effervescent orange body with a medium-sized creamy white head. Smells great - creamy apples, cookies, acid with lactic vinous notes. Spritzy palate with sharp acidity. Very grassy and lemon-esque including brett character and refreshingly dry overall.
This stuff is truly phenomenal.

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Batch1-PH1. Cloudy amber color with a head of diminished wispy off-white bubbles. Aromas of pale malts, mingle with apricots, lime (not the fruit rather the white powder spread on the floor in the barn at the end of the day), set in an old unoccupied farmhouse or barn. Very smooth from the first touch, but lots of bubbles to glide it across the palate. Light cherry sweetness in the front, that does seem to survive quite a distance. Soft acids nip at the tongue and back of the throat. A touch too many bubbles at times, make this seem like a gueuze soda, but it still retains enough body keep it real. Linger returns to some lightly toasted malt and a touch of wild honey. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA

Pours a cloudy, yeasty, burnt orange with a fluttery, white head. Smells pretty funky, deliciously acidic, lovely orange peel, and some spiciness. Taste, is pretty mind knumbingly delicious. Nothing over the top, which was very pleasing. Nice combo of lemon and orange, along with spices, coriander, and slight acidity. Its tartness, subtle as it may be, I think was just right. I think this beer is better suited for its mellowness, rather than being cheek puckering sour. Mouthfeel is extraordinary and full. Quite possibly my favorite RR brew. A treat!
