It was even better in the bottle - super sour, uncompromising, and delicious. Very gueuze-like, which is not such a stretch once you read the description of this beer.
It poured a hazy straw color with an exuberant head which stuck around forever. Aroma was very gueuze-like, and it was a touch champagne-like, but also rough, chalky, and very citrus-y. Not understated like Cantillon - this stuff is assertive, very sour, not overly sweet (like Berlinerweisse) with a very rough and chalky mouthfeel. If Cantillon was in Michigan rather than Brussels, then this is what gueuze would be known to taste like. In addition to rough-ness, mouthfeel is also very carbonated.
Flyer bought this in CA, and brought it over for a tasting at my house with SurlySober which also included Allagash Black, Gouden Carolous, and Westvleteren 12 (quite respectable, eh?). anders37 (4675), Malmö, Sweden

Pours an apricot puree color with a creamy white head. Very smooth. Smells and tastes of orange rind, assorted citrus, mustard seed, and faint pear. Finishes dry at the back of the palate like champagne. Perhaps the best sour I have had thus far. ajm (926), Los Angeles, California, USA

Nose is reasonably tart and earthy, smells very bitter and sour - almost like rot. Taste is very drinkable and smooth - tangerine and grapefruit are rather noticeable. Only light mustard and appropriate yeast. Very very nice. badlizard (2345), Berkeley, California, USA
