Marmalade colour, little head, but big lacing. Fresh, grassy aroma. Absolutely delicious and drinkable beer. Hop encrusted, but fruity and juicy beer, which is satisfying and refreshing. Light in the mouth, with a full, slightly soured finish which tingles slightly. Great stuff indeed. mjsherid72 (2), California, USA does not count | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 20, 2004 On Tap at Father’s Office in Santa Monica. The aroma is sweet yet bitter and hoppy with nice malt notes, a hint of grapefruit and pine. The flavor is slightly sweet but mostly bitter, piney and hoppy with a slight apricot note, some grapefruit and a nice malty background. Full bodied, smooth, slightly dry and warming. herbjones (742), Orange, California, USA

Very interesting drinking this one as you get a very hoppy citrus bitterness at the front. Malty, biscuity notes in the middle finished with an herbal bite at the end. Very enjoyable brew! Nice copper color with a citrus/pine nose. It starts out hoppy but finishes clean and refreshing. The hop profile of this APA seems different than others I’ve had. unclebleen (620), California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | May 8, 2004 Pours a nice amber color with a beautiful off-white head that laces the glass very well. Aroma is very mild, not quite what I expected from an American "Strong" Ale, but still pleasant. Nice malt/hop balance exists. Flavor is almost exactly like Sierra Nevada’s Harvest Ale. Nice hop bitterness meshed well with a sweet malty balance. Good body that holds its own in the mouth. A good beer. Sickboy282 (1100), San Diego, California, USA

When i had this beer i wasn’t sure i liked the style, but i’m seriously getting used to it, this was pretty tasty. Classic lychee, pine, grapefruit, really balanced and soft. Great beer from a pretty handy bunch of brewers.
