TampaBrew (726), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 3, 2009 On tap @ RR. Pours a deep gold. Tons of citrus nose. Big fruity grapefruit as well. Flavor is a nice malt, some bready notes, big grapefruit, orange, citrus zest. Amazingly balanced and finishes dry with a slightly lingering hop sweetness. Alasdair (76), New Zealand Jul 1, 2009 Thick, tangy pineapple, spice and toffee aroma. Perfectly balanced and drinkable, with resiny, sappy hop character of pineapple, apricot, and melon, with a pleasant bready malt to balance it. HomeBrewHawk (263), De Soto, Kansas, USA Jun 28, 2009 500ml bottle. Bottled on 3/26/09. Served in a shaker pint. Poured a pale gold with two fingers of white head. Citrus hop aroma. Light to medium bodied with medium amount of carbonation. Crisp hop bitterness up front. Dry hoppy finish with a good amount of mouth pucker. Very easy drinking beer. Tweety (337), Vancouver, Washington, USA Jun 27, 2009 Woohoo! Just moved to the west coast and I can’t even tell you how much of this delicious beer I’ll be drinking in the next year... elihapa (1033), Honolulu, California, USA Jun 24, 2009 Bottle, $4.49. Pours cloudy orange-gold with a nice frothy head. Aroma just hits you with luxurious grapefruit-citrus. Flavor holds the citrus note – lemony, grapefruity, flowery – adding some toasted and toffee malt flavors and a hint of salt. Finishes cleanly bitter and flavorful. Flavors are surprisingly mild, however. As far as the palate of Blind Pig, it is light and clean overall, finishing dry. The head froth on Blind Pig is noteworthy. For some reason, the froth is as airy and puffy as any beer I’ve ever encountered. It is remarkable, actually, and adds tremendously to the enjoyment of this beer. This is my IPA for a hot summers day. AtlAggie (131), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Jun 23, 2009 Draft at Toronado. Pours golden orange color, minimal head. Huge bright and floral hop aroma, grapfruit, citrus, apricot--really nice. Taste is all of those flavors and then some, huge hop presence, backed up by soft malts, finishing with mild bitterness. A nicely balanced IPA (which is not my favorite style to begin with), but a few points off since I enjoyed other RR IPAs more RollinHard (748), Fort Worth, Texas, USA Jun 22, 2009 Gold-orange pour. Aroma of orange, apricots, grapefruit, and bitter plant, so strong on the hops. Tastes similar to all those above hop notes, with a little bready malt. Finishes earthy, floral, and bitter grapefruit aftertaste. Medium bodied and creamy. I hope you like hops, because you’ll get them, with just enough malt presence to make this drinkable. Grovlam (3790), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 21, 2009 Bottle. Large light creamy beige head that mostly lasted. Good display of lacework. Somewhat cloudy golden amber color. Aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, peach, caramel, mild toasted malt. Quite nice and smooth with a twist of dry. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering dry bitter fruity finish.
