| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Pretty solid IPA for me. Nice and juicy hops and not too lingering with the bitterness. Pine and citrus dominant hops. easy to drink and very good. maxa9 (20), , Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 23, 2009 Bottle purchased at Belmont Station, Portland, OR. Snifter. Big fluffy head. Cloudy dark orange color. Smells like Pliny, divided by 3. Tastes like Pliny, divided by 3. Palate is thin. This is a good beer, but quite a step down from its Imperial siblings. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2009 Draught at the brewery. Gold with a white head. Huge hoppy aroma of pine and grapefruit. Dry, lightly toasted pale malt with lots of bitter, piney hop flavor. A little lighter bodied and dryer than RRIPA, with a very dry and clean finish and lingering bitterness. A pretty big hop charge, but the profile isn’t quite as interesting as RRIPA. Love the dry, clean malt profile though Pawola22 (709), Kansas City, Missouri, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 22, 2009 500ml bottle. Pours a hazy, golden-yellow body with a thin, white, fizzy head that leaves a good amount of runny, soapy lacing. Aroma is very bright and fresh. Lots of zesty lemons and sweet caramels. Some light toffee and pine in the background as well as some tropical fruits. Flavor is nice and abundant, yet somewhat subdued. Doesn’t jump out like some other CA brews. The flavor grows in the finish and increases more as it warms. The most intensely bitter taste comes about a minute after sipping. A very light bodied and dry IPA. Big, fresh, zesty, and bright citrus (mostly lemony) after an initial and brief caramel maltiness. Lots of pine and grass in the aftertaste. Very resiny. Some pineapple and tropical fruit flavors increase in the finish, which maintain a big zesty, tartness for a long duration. There is a malt presence, but its very light and in the background. The palate is very light and crisp. Overall, lots of tangy, puckering flavor for such a light bodied IPA. Very tasty. McGrupp612 (29), hamburg, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 20, 2009 Updated: Apr 13, 2009Great tasting IPA with a similar flavour profile to it’s big brother "Pliny the Elder". Allot of exotic fruit such as pineapple and passionfruit is all over the aroma and in the flavour. The brew could do with just a tad more carbonation but it’s still very drinkable and tasty. Thanks to fredandboboflo for this bottle. mrhoppy (209), Santa Clara, California, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 15, 2009 Kick Ass IPA. If you know hoppy beers you know the deal. It is all here. Smell, taste, bitter, sweet. Ooooh that smell. That smell that surrounds me. Regular must have for sure. Vinnie is a beer genius. Hop Heads rejoice. ditmier (1057), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 11, 2009 2009 Bottle - 1 month old, pours a semi-hazy golden with a large, lasting off-white head...aroma is big and bright, frest citrus, grass, peach, pine tar...flavour is similar, nice variance of bitters, I was actually expecting a few more IBU’s given the hype, but it is good, very dry finish...I think more malt without going the DIPA route would have made me happier, still delicious....
