Pliny’s younger brother has a pretty big shadow cast, but it manages to come out with some nice eccentricity from the king of the IPA world, Russian River. Hawaiian punch in the smell, nice tropical taste, maybe a bit over carbonated, but a damn good IPA overall.

On draft at Teresa’s. Poured light orange with egg-white head. Nose of fresh grapefruits. Flavor consists of freshly sliced fruits: orange, grapefruit, even some pineapple noticeable. Probably underrated as some people try incorrectly to compare it to the Plinys. One of the best IPAs out there.

Bottle from CelticBrew, thanks for this Jim!! Clear gold pour under a big foamy white head that settles to a 1/8" layer that lasts and lasts, leaving a fine, filmy lace. Huge citrus hop aroma with doses of spruce, honey , and even some light fruit. Medium body and lightly carbonated, resinous, but surprisingly smooth and even silky. Hops come on quickly, like chewing grapefruit rind, with some toffee like sweetness for support. An outstanding IPA in the best of West Coast style.

On draught Toronado - Very hoppy aroma - nice thick white head. Perfect IPA, well balanced hoppyness and overall goodness, though pales in comparison to eitherof the Plinys...

Fresh 22oz bottle. Perfect example of what I like in an IPA. Big pine hops that don’t quit, just enough malt to keep it drinkable. Bitterness in the finish is stong, but not overwhelming. Just big and fresh. I love this beer.

Had in bottle and tap a few times, none was better than the growler brought to Kramers tasting - I think Axilla or Miver? Insane stuff! Pours a light coppery orange slight haze and a massive tight pure white head. aroma is straight up dank and resinous similar to fresh weed, ridiculous with the simcoe and amarillo- tons of fruit and pine. Flavor is resinous as hell, sticky piny, overload of simcoe, and dank kind bud- with a spicy kick- harsh tacky raw bitterness that cuts through what little malt backbone is in there which is just awesome.

by way of psprings cause he felt bad letting this sit around... bottled 7/22/2008. in all fairness this is going on six months old. still, fantastic though not optimal.

pours a hazy orange gold iced/ tea color with a soft white head. lots of citrus on the nose... grapefruit, orange and pineapple blend with caramel and non resinous pine. the flavor is the same... tart pineapple (not the golden ones), tangerines, caramel/maltiness, grass, floral hops and an earthy finish which is persistently parching. very clean. pleasant medium body with a creamy mouth feel. the malts are balanced nicely hoppy dryness and near bitterness. it’s nice now. i can’t imagine it fresh! 7/3/7/4/16/3.7

Pours a clear golden color with a smallish white head that falls off to some nice lace. Aroma is of hops, hops and more hops, citrus and pine. Flavor is of big citrusy hops, grapefruit, pine caramel malt, bitter Finnish. Very well balanced beer.
