Average lacing. Nice aroma. Orange and grapefruit first followed by a hefty dose of pine. Light floral and some sweeter graham cracker as well. The flavor was pine hops, light citrus and a solid caramel malt backbone. Easy drinking with a clean finish. Good. CapFlu (3481), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada

Pours a thin, white, frothy head and an orange, sediment-filled body with no-carbonation. Nose of pineapple, green leaves, tangerines and bitter hops. Flavours of tart Seville oranges, mild amber malt, and great bitterness to hoppy, pine-cone resin finish. 8/4/8/3/15 nickd717 (1331), Palo Alto, California, USA

Citrusy hops on the flavor and good malt presence. Extremely well-rounded. Medium body, dry finish. A little toned down relative to Pliny the Elder, but as they say in NorCal, hella good. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Feb 2, 2009 btl by BeerHawk. grapefruit and medium malt on the nose. An orange pour with gooey white head and lace. Malt and hops balance well, a nice bitter finish. A semi sweet tinge that lend to making this a very good beer. Just slightly foamy and a hint of thin. Very well balanced with a great bitter. Glouglouburp (2810), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Feb 1, 2009 In short: A fantastic very crisp and dry IPA. Amazing.
How: Bottles. Many times from many people (Kegbear and others). Thanks a millon to you all and keep these coming!!! Always consumed fresh immediately upon reception.
The look: Clear golden blonde body topped by a medium white head
In long: Nose of orange peels, citrus fruits and distant pine-needles. Taste is focussed on high-drinkability. Side-by-side with Pliny the Elder I thought the Pliny was a lot more resinous while the Blind Pig was a lot more on the dry side with cedar and sawdust flavours. Sweetness is more on the crisp honey/caramel while the Pliny had a rich caramel. Side-by-side with the Pliny Elder the Blind Pig clearly didn’t have the complexity or the Elder but its dryer character almost makes-up for it. A very nice beer I can really relate to, although I’ve never been called blind before. Brewsmith (136), Torrance, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2009 From a 0.5L bottle purchased locally poured into an imperial pint glass. Resiny hops fill the nose with citrus and pine. A golden color with a small white head. Flavor is forward with the hops followed by smooth malt. Crisp lingering bitterness. Carbonation is low and the finish is dry making this beer very drinkable. I could drink this all day long.
