This poured a nice clear yellow to orange color with a nice fluffy white head. Aroma was just amazing, a cornicopia of hops really. Lots of different types it seems with smells of fruit/citrus, pine and grassy. Yumm. Flavor was just as impressive. Brutally bitter upfront with a nice smooth pine and citrus flavor, and then a really nice dry malty finish. Excellent beer and little brother to PLINEY.

Golden orange with color with a thin white head. Impressive nose of citrus, hops, and grass. Well-balanced flavor of grapefruit, hops, grass. Not an excessive hoppy bite. Very enjoyable!

Crushed with JakeBra and CaryTheDude. Nose is amazing. Huge, herbal, grassy, citrus hops. Flavor is a bit subdued, perhaps from the age of the beer. Great nonetheless.

WOW! Courtesy Paiste2002, thanks man! Great IPA. Another reason I wish I lived on the west coast. Aroma was perfect. Strong grassy hops fill the nose. One of the best aromas I’ve encountered in a beer. Pour was perfect as well. A nice light gold with a one finger off white head. A great IPA is truly pale. Light in color and this is just that. Taste was also great. Strong in the hops with little malt to muddy the water. Strong bitter hops that dry the mouth with strong grassiness with just a hint of citrus. Decent carbonation. Please CA people. Send me more!!

Crushed with Jakebra and Honkeybra. Bottled 1/19/08. Was worried hops were dead. Huge nose, but not as much flavor. Still pretty damn good. Very, very thin bodied. Rerate, bottle 11-19-08. Same awesome nose. Flavor is much nicer, floral, bitter, and awesome. Absolutely a top IPA. Dug it much more fresh, naturally.

Tap at the brewpub. The body was cloudy dark gold with an off white head. The aroma was strong grapefruit with some peanuts and caramel. The taste was bitter grapefruit with peanut shells and burnt popcorn. I suppose I should try a bottled version, but this tap version had tons of burnt popcorn that threw off the entire package.

500 mL - thanks Tim at work. Pours a crystal clear orange, with a one-finger head. Tons of lace. Aroma earthy hops with some pine. Flavor is similar, pine and dirt hops. Plenty of bitterness, almost no malt to be found. Palate is thin and slightly watery, finishing dry. Overall its a drinkable, albeit unremarkable brew. If you’re going to have a bitter Russian River, I’d go with Pliny the Elder.

Pours a clear golden orange color. Very small, almost non-existent head. Does leave a little lacing. Aroma is sweet w/ some apricot and a very earthy mud smell. Not in a bad way though. Flavor is earthy and kind of dirty. A nice mild hop flavor. Gives a good bitterness on the tongue. A little bit of fruity character. Some floral too. Very perfumey. Seems like it has a little more body than the Pliny the Elder.
