BillKismet (1899), Seattle, Washington, USA Dec 8, 2008 Bronze with a proliferation of upward hurling tiny bubbles feeding a luscious cream top. Divinely honeyed hop florals and bitterness are a hop nectar salve to the nostrils. Bitter and sweet notes intermingle. Raw hop leaf flavor and good, refined bitterness. Piny. A hop lovers IPA. Ends moderately dry. LtDan (471), LA - Originally from South NJ!, California, USA Dec 7, 2008 Good, but overhyped. Poured a cloudy yellow with a fluffy white head. Aromas of grapefruit rind and pine. Signature ton of hops like in Pliny, but very soft in the finish. I guess every CA IPA cant be super abrasive, but I was looking for more citrus or more pine and did not get either. Still beats 99 percent of the east coast IPAs out there. rederic (1787), montréal, Quebec, Canada Dec 4, 2008 500ml bottle, bright yellow gold color, with frothy whithe head, very good floral hop citrusy nose of grapefruit, with some resinous, piney, coniferous accents with a hint of crunchy caramel malt in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, fruity, flowery hop coniferous character, with some pine niddle, cedary accents, with a hint of fresh mintiness, some oily lemon peel citrusy, with some toasty malt undertones, leading towards a fruity, zesty, citrusy, coniferous hop bittering finish. drjay44 (758), Salida, Colorado, USA Dec 3, 2008 Updated: Mar 13, 2009500 ml. bottle. Pours a beautiful thick head which has good retention, followed by attractive lacing, over a golden body with many tiny floaters....nose is enormous with heavy bursts of pine, resin, grapefruit, ?vanilla....tastes of slight malts initially then the burst of grapefruit and resin, finishing with a relatively light lingering bitterness...mouth fell is medium. A well balanced and appropriately praised American style IPA. 12/3/2008 Bronzan (25), Cotati, California, USA Dec 2, 2008 Bottle. Wonderful aroma, heavy hop smell. Nice head. In a way, both bitter and smooth. Another great IPA from Russian River. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 1, 2008 On draft at Capones. Smells of pine, grapefruit, and biscuit. Lots of pine in the flavor as well along with some tangerine. Long bitter finish. Leaves some very nice lace. Nephilium (541), Ohio, USA Nov 29, 2008 This starts off with a big grapefruity nose, and pours a clear amber with a fluffy white head. Nice bitter flavor, hints of pine, citrus, and a touch of floral/grassy notes. Clean, crisp finish, and light in the mouthfeel. A great IPA. DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Nov 29, 2008 Updated: Jul 13, 2009Re-rate 6/09: Bottle sample. Thanks Yafit! Slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, flowers and some candies. Flavor starts slightly malty and sweetish and quickly turns into a very pleasant hoppy bitterness with grapefruits and a bit of other fruits. Medium-bodied. 8/3/8/4/16=3.9
