Source: Bottle from Keg and Bottle Glass: Tulip Aroma: Wonderful piney aroma, with some grapefruit. Appearance: Light amber body, with beautiful clarity. Two fingers of white head. Flavor: Fantastic IPA. Some nice malt sweetness to back the hop flavor. A really great single IPA. Palate: Good full mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Overall Impression: One of my favorite IPAs. Shouldn’t be overshadowed by big brother Pliny.

On tap at the Rose and Crown. Smells AMAZING, hoppy with a touch of sweetness. Tastes great. There’s a great, full mouthfeel on this one. Russian River impresses me again.

pour a golden orange color with a good foamy white head. aroma is hoppy with alot of citrus, pine, and has some a slight bread aroma in the background. flavor is of citrus hops, pine, and a slight sweet malt in the background to balance out the hops. body is medium and it has a nice dry finnish. overall, another great hoppy ale from Russian River.

leave it to Russian River to make 3 of the most delicious IPA’s and double IPA’s in the world. This one is the third best of their trifecta and it’s absolutely fantastic.

Tasted 8/13/09. 500ml bottle. Bottled on March 3 2009. Mildly sedimented with a deep golden hue. Brain and ring of off-white head. Good nose with hints of citrus grapefruit and sweet breads. Nice earthy note. Medium bodied and rather sharp on the initial sip. Astringent effervescence. Tingling hoppy flavor. Solid palate. Good roast on the malt aspect. Finishes sweet with a mildly cloying aspect. Good flavor and on the dry side. Fruity and tasty. Big bitterness but still with a solid sessionable quality.
