The aroma has lots of orangy hops, some resi,t toffee malt, and PINEAPPLE. The bitterness level is high, but not too much. It’s a good blend of bitterness and hoppy flavors dominated by PINEAPPLE. I think there is also a some Cascade hops. This beer is definitely more hoppy than malty and that’s okay. This beer has amedim-light body, soft palate, and is really drinkable. Overall it is a great IPA.

Now we’re getting into the good IPAs. Great citrus and pine hopes, touch of vanilla. Little sweetness balanced very well by the bitter finish. hopdoge (26), Colorado, USA

Bottle from BMan1113VR who was my secret santa for the summer secret santa thing. Pours a lightly hazed orange honey amber with a large beige head that sticks around for a while. Nice big pineapple and grapefruit aromas with some beautiful resiny pine notes. One of the best smelling IPAs I’ve had. A little thinner than medium body, smooth and with some nice spicy qualities. Finishes with a big thick tannic grapefruit bitterness. Lovely. Just lovely. Big thanks to Andrew for this one. Excellent choice. hallinghansen (265), Odense SV, Denmark

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 21, 2009 Draft at Ron’s. Pours hazy dark straw toward copper. Nose is grapefruit and tangerine, heavy hops, malt. The taste is bitter, very hoppy and resiny, with hefty pineapple and grapefruit flavors, and black peppery hints. Smooth and crisp, with a niice complexity, this one is a hop head’s wet dream, literally and figuratively. Strykzone (1468), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 20, 2009 Thanks Jason! Six week old bottle. Blind Pig pours a hazy honey brown color with a smallish off white tan head. Light carbonation is visible. Aroma is not big and offers citrus, caramel, and pine. Flavor begins with a tart and bitter hop bite that is sweetened by caramel. While the hops are assertive they are also pillow soft at times. There is some nice pepper spice that shows up as the beer warms. The hops are so delightfully complex and well crafted. This is what an IPA should be! I was sorry to see the bottom of the glass.
