Pours a hazy, brownish gold with a moderate linen white head that faded to a film by mid-glass and laced the glass all the way to the end. The aroma is quite strong and reminds me more of an arborvitae than pine. Some grapefruit notes also present in the nose. The flavor is malt up front followed by a wash of strong pine and grapefruit. As the beer warms a bit, the grapefruit outshines the pine. Prickly, bitter finish. Thanks again, Larry! fordest (1954), Santee/San Diego, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 26, 2006 Draft at O’Brien’s. Awesome Aromas seeping out of this golden orange brew. Sweet citrus... Orange, Ruby Red Grapefruit. Light Pineapple. Flavors were citurs at first with a piney/grassy finish. Very good. BillKismet (1944), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Bronze with a proliferation of upward hurling tiny bubbles feeding a luscious cream top. Divinely honeyed hop florals and bitterness are a hop nectar salve to the nostrils. Bitter and sweet notes intermingle. Raw hop leaf flavor and good, refined bitterness. Piny. A hop lovers IPA. Ends moderately dry. scraff (1943), Baltimore, Maryland, USA

Soft pine and grapefruit zest aromas ride a light foundation of toasty malt throughout. Bright bitter citric-pine flavors round with a touch of back end sweet malt. Has a light Pliny tone to it. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, moderately bitter finish. A very nice session IPA… ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 9, 2006 Tap at O’Briens. Had this side by side with their IIPA as well as a few others. Ligher amber body than the IIPA, as well as a less assertive aroma. Still, this didn’t mean much. Huge piney citrusy aroma. I really strugged to detect where the hops were from for some reason... no idea. This IPA was different from a lot I’ve had from Cali. Still really hoppy and bitter and I thought it was well balanced as well. travita (1925), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 9, 2008 A golden color with a small soapy head. The aroma is hoppy with some lemons and perfume. The flavor is somewhat bitter with some lemons, oranges, and a hint of pine. The aftertaste is bitter as well. The palate is a bit thin but overall this is a nice IPA if not a complex one.
