Jun 15, 2009 Bottle, with Alaskanwarren in Denver. Shiny copper, white head. Fresh woodsy nose, grapefruit and a surprising peppermint brightness. Crisp, bright hop flavor, something sharp and wintery about it. Cold steel, mint. Light/medium body with a gentle touch of sweet. As much as this is a beer with a lot of flavor impact, it isn’t just a shouting match—it really has an excellent sense of poise. Remarkably good IPA.

Aug 23, 2008 A great IPA from Russian River. Refreshing and flavorful. Pours a slightly hazy gold/orange with fluffy white head. Citrus, lemon zest, grapefruit, floral hops, tropical fruit (mango), pine, caramel malt, and biscuits. I would drink this all the time if I could get a hold of it.

Aug 23, 2005 This defines IPA for me. Can I just say that over and over and have that be my testament? What more can I really say? A description does not do justice what this does for my tongue and soul.
Sampled by hand carried glass from Natalie as Vinne brewed and Dave Keen and Joe looked on, SaveTheAles pummeled hops and I grinned.

Oct 29, 2008 Bright clear gold with a large loose white head. Pine, citrus mango and a hint of bar soap in the aroma. Very hoppy in flavor and a bit on the sweet side. A little thin in body and a little undercarbonated. Has some honey malt flavor underlying the strong pine and citrus. Quite bitter also.

Jul 25, 2009 700th rating. Bottle from BMan1113VR who was my secret santa for the summer secret santa thing. Pours a lightly hazed orange honey amber with a large beige head that sticks around for a while. Nice big pineapple and grapefruit aromas with some beautiful resiny pine notes. One of the best smelling IPAs I’ve had. A little thinner than medium body, smooth and with some nice spicy qualities. Finishes with a big thick tannic grapefruit bitterness. Lovely. Just lovely. Big thanks to Andrew for this one. Excellent choice.

Oct 27, 2008 Tap @ Horse Brass Pub... Poured orange with a white head. Delicious hops on the nose. Floral flavors and very hoppy but yet very balanced. Sweet citrus notes that created a satisfying finish.

Dec 2, 2009 Updated: Dec 4, 2009This beer was fantastic. Even upon opening I could smell a wonderful bouquet of floral hops and sweet malts. Poured a golden orange color with a fluffy, moderately fast declining head, was probably my pour. Later pours into my glass rendered only a small white head. Aroma is grassy, malty, with a wonderful, but not an overpowering hop hit. Flavor is a nice balance of citrus, pine, and malts.

Sep 23, 2008 Pours gold, with a white head. Aroma is strong grapefruity hops, and caramel. Flavor is hops, citrus, caramel, and malt. A very good IPA.
