500th rating, and it’s a good one. Bottle from South Bay Drugs. Pours a clear orange-gold color with some haze and a white head. The aroma is perfect for an IPA. I could smell this all day. "Pine and pot," as described by one guy smelling it, the aroma has spectacular floral notes, citrus, pineapple, pine hops, caramel malt- wow. Pine, citrus, hops, and malt all show up in the flavor as well, which has a nice bitter bite to it along with some fruit and caramel sweetness. Light-medium bodied, so easy to drink, and refreshing any time of year. Get one of these fresh and enjoy.

Smells like hops, pine, citrus, and heaven. Looks medium/dark golden. Head is fluffy and falls fast leaving behind substantial lacing. Tastes like a DIPA. Tons of bitter hops, pine, sour citrus, the bitterness sticks to your lips. I’ve actually never had an IPA with this aggressive of flavors. Perfect levels of carbonation. I’m so in love with beer I’d let that blind pig on the label sodomize me with his white cane. I know he’d never call me again, and it wouldn’t matter. I would have gotten what I wanted, his light juicy goodness. Mmmm

Bottle from Monument Liqours in Concord, CA. Smelled of citurs hops. If you like hops this is the beer for you. Citurs hops dominated the flavor and very even feel on the palate. Good brew!!

On tap at Tria in Philly. Hazy dark sunflower supporting a 3-2 finger white head. Sticky patches of lacing hug the glass all the way to the bottom. Aroma of fresh cut grass, grapefruit zest and oranges. Extremely well-balanced flavors with citrusy and piney hops in lock step with mildly sweet malt and fresh baked biscuits. Another layer of summery fruit flavors dance about as well. Silky mouthfeel and one of the best finishes I’ve had in any beer. Easily one of best beers (not just an IPA) I’ve been lucky enough to find. Until RR starts distributing to NJ, I’ll be more than happy to trek into Philly for a fix.

Pours a clear golden orange color. Very small, almost non-existent head. Does leave a little lacing. Aroma is sweet w/ some apricot and a very earthy mud smell. Not in a bad way though. Flavor is earthy and kind of dirty. A nice mild hop flavor. Gives a good bitterness on the tongue. A little bit of fruity character. Some floral too. Very perfumey. Seems like it has a little more body than the Pliny the Elder.

On draft at Brouwer’s. Pours light! Very transparent, with a small head. Lots of grapefruit and citrus up front - very hop-forward. Crisp, smooth - great, but no Pliny. Sprightly, but still richly flavorful. Very nice.

Good, but overhyped. Poured a cloudy yellow with a fluffy white head. Aromas of grapefruit rind and pine. Signature ton of hops like in Pliny, but very soft in the finish. I guess every CA IPA cant be super abrasive, but I was looking for more citrus or more pine and did not get either. Still beats 99 percent of the east coast IPAs out there.

This is an outstanding IPA and among my favourites for the style. Its light golden amber with a small, off-white ehad that lasts and leaves some good lace. The aroma is strong grapefruit with plenty of grapes and a hint of white wine, hint of pine. it has a definite west coast IPA quality but with more body, range, malt, and juicy complexity. The taste is very juicy with grapefruit, but not too much, lemon, pine, a lot of apple and winey grape quality, bitter but with great flavour body and sweetness to carry it, and a dryish aftertaste.
