| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 30, 2008 Bottle and served in my GI IPA Tulip: Clean golden hue topped by a foamy white head which left very nice lace upon the glassware. The aroma smacks of resiny, leafy and citric hops with a hint of caramel and bready malt balance, A tad minerally as well around the edges. The flavor profile lets the hops shine without kicking in your teeth, surprisingly smooth and very drinkable. Lots of twangy snappy citric notes about the palate with a astringent metallic finish. The mouth feel is sprite and refreshing, dry chalky finish. A very solid entry into the genre and if available in my area this would a beer I would drink regularly. cgarvieuk (4225), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 26, 2008 Sampled during Surly D-Day from 22-oz bottle. Pours a semi-clear golden amber brew with an average white head that quickly dissipates to a fine film, white ring and some spotty lacing. Aroma of citrus zest and piney hop character with a hint of golden grain malt. Taste is medium bodied, some light carbonation with flavors of citrus and grassy hops, some golden grain malt, and some light caramel. Finish has a dry bitterness with some light caramel and golden grain aftertaste. Ughsmash (4095), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 13, 2008 Bottled on 7/9/08. Poured slightly hazy golden/orange with a short, sticky cap of white head. The aroma was positively delightful.. pineapple first and foremost with complementary notes of pine resin and tangy floral influence.. the pale backing didn’t do too much, but it was well balanced.. a hair warmer impression than 6.1%, but that wasn’t necessarily bad. The flavor had a little more maltage than the aroma indicated, with bready and other pale malts present.. bitterness was plentiful with grapefruit and a hay/pine cross all over.. finished bitter with less specific character and some alcohol warmth. Medium-bodied and slightly scratchy on the palate from the resiny hops.. juicier on the back with a memorable finish. Great one! goldtwins (4086), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 24, 2006 GABF 2006: Clear amber color with an off-white head. Nice strong piney, resiny, grapefruit and earthy hop aroma that carries over to the flavor. The hops almost hide the caramel maltiness. Solid IPA. Sammy (4065), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Big foamy head on dark grapefruit body. Floral hops, very pleasant aroma. AFter 7 days, we drunk this hardly changed from room temperature and very much liked its smoothness and taste.

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 2, 2009 Bottle (500ml). Shared by tupalev with me, blankboy, garthicus and gregclow. Ah, THIS is an IPA (take notes, Beaus). Slightly hazy orange with a solid frothy lasting off-white head. Lush aroma - pungent "cat pee" (that’s a good thing) bitterness and juicy citrus malt backing - facking hell, that smells terrific. Taste of mild grapefruit pith, orange zest, quite a shifting medley of hop bitterness - only mild alcohol, overall very light and balanced, a real "drink it for hours" IPA. Fairly light body, a little acidic, mildly carbonated and not at all boozy, up front or in the tail - pungently bitter, and it takes quite a while to finish - just what a drinkin’ IPA should be.
