Sep 2, 2008 Brilliant golden. Super intense hop aroma. Exotic fruity hop aroma--apricot, mango some sprucy hints. This smells delicious. Medium-light body. Bright clean bitterness, shines right through. More exotic hop flavors. This is truly delicious. Big thanks to my buddy Matt for sending this along to me.

Aug 13, 2008 Small tan head, good retention with a nice stringy lace left behind. Hazy gold with a light copper hue. Big ol hop nose, pine, earth, grass and grapefruit with soft malt backing. Body is med/full, chewy, resiny and coating on the palate. Strong hop flavors, grapefruit, pine and sosme cedar notes. Faint maltiness, fairly dry, lightly toasty from what i can find under the serious hop blanket. Dry, citrusy biggass hop finish, lingering lovingly, bite. A manly IPA for sure. Props to cloudskipper for the bottle!

Mar 27, 2006 [Cask at O’Brien’s] Poured a lightly hazy, copper color with a medium sized, off white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus fruits, pine resin, floral hops and faint malts as well. Taste was super, tangerine and other citrus fruits, more pine and a strong grapefruit bitterness. The IBUs are incredible on this one.

May 8, 2009 My first ever Russian River beer..here goes.
Slightly murky orange/brown beer..great off white frothy creamy heid.
Nice fresh aromas of piney/spruce like hops..some lemon and honey in the back.
Good juicy hops, freshly squeezed or so it feels. Fresh grassy, grapefruit, brown sugar, toasted. Really nice and fresh..you should have this for breakfast!
Great palate too..very well done.
Overall a great IPA

Aug 26, 2008 BOTTLED ON 072208: sharp and bitter with citrus peels; tight streams of tiny beading bubbles, warm yellow glow, soapy and lacy white head; juicy; plenty of fresh green hops; a tough IPA as it ought to be--get it? you need to be a friggin’ warrior to get this... an American IPA--you want this.

Oct 17, 2007 Draft. Bad ass stuff. It smells like a cathedral of hops - noble, genteel even, but very, very serious. A weighty IPA, it hides all of its astringency with a blast of hops upon hops uopn hops. Grassy, lush, citrusy, with a dark malt backing - like a canvas for great art. This beer is really an achievement.

Jun 3, 2009 A very solid IPA. Lots of hops on nose, tounge, aftertaste and more. Another bigtime hop guy from RR. An almost orange color, a nice fluffy off-white head. A slightly varamel sweet taste to compliment the piney-citrus hops.
