Sweet soft malt body gets quickly overpowered by a huge West Coast hop flavor. Not harsh, though, and well-balanced. Big bitter to satisfy any hop head. bhensonb (4268), Woodland, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2008 Bottle from Healthy Spirits in SF. Light amber color with a minimal white head. Citrus and pine aromas over somewhat roasted malt. Medium body with very mild carbonation. Flavor is mild malt and primarily citrus hop. Some light stone fruit seems present. Finish is very clean. So tasty it could be a DIPA, but rather than run of the mill it’s an exceptional IPA. I’m enjoying it. BillKismet (1938), Seattle, Washington, USA

Divinely honeyed hop florals and bitterness are a hop nectar salve to the nostrils. Bitter and sweet notes intermingle. Raw hop leaf flavor and good, refined bitterness. Piny. A hop lovers IPA. Ends moderately dry. Dogbrick (2855), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Pours a deep bronze color with a medium thin downy white head that diminishes slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Pine and lemony citrus aroma. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with pine, hops and citrus flavors in varying degrees. Some malt is present as well. The finish is hoppy and resinous with a lingering bitterness afterward. Not much to complain about here. Sickboy282 (1098), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 3, 2006 Having old friends remember the original, I was very excited to finally try the mother of the pliney. But to my dismay, it didn’t hold up, but 10 years ago, this would have been nice. Pours a clean orange/yellow hue with aromas of pine, and citrus. Flavors of the same with a nice bitterness. For being 6%, this does make a nice session brew. michael-pollack (2677), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

The aroma is super delicious witth hoppy notes of grass and pine needles. The flavor is very much in balance between the sweetness and the bitternes with notes of malt, and lots of hops, giving it notes of grass, pine needles and grapefruit. Thanks a bunch to Kasper at Nørrebro Bryghus for serving this at my birthday party, hand bottle by Vinny - what a treat!
