Poured hazy golden color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy sour citrus hoppy aroma. Medium to full body with a oily slick texture. Moderate to heavy bitter flavor with a moderate to heavy bittersweet finish of medium to long duration. Very good brew. RollinHard (761), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

Aroma of orange, apricots, grapefruit, and bitter plant, so strong on the hops. Tastes similar to all those above hop notes, with a little bready malt. Finishes earthy, floral, and bitter grapefruit aftertaste. Medium bodied and creamy. I hope you like hops, because you’ll get them, with just enough malt presence to make this drinkable. yalnikim (781), Wellington, New Zealand

Nice drop but I don’t think anything is going to compare that favourably to following a mint condition AleSmith IPA. Richer base malt, slightly more minerally, tending English almost, but with all the hop characters of a new world ale. Bluddy guid. drjay44 (793), Salida, Colorado, USA

Pours a beautiful thick head which has good retention, followed by attractive lacing, over a golden body with many tiny floaters....nose is enormous with heavy bursts of pine, resin, grapefruit, ?vanilla....tastes of slight malts initially then the burst of grapefruit and resin, finishing with a relatively light lingering bitterness...mouth fell is medium. A well balanced and appropriately praised American style IPA. 12/3/2008 TheGrandMaster (1862), Auckland, New Zealand
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 Bottle (in NZ). Pours an orange/gold with a large foamy white head. An explosive hop aroma of melon, grapefruit and manderins - but a bit perfumy. More balanced on the palate, I’m quite surprised by the moderation of the hops. The malt is smoothless, though lacking a little in flavour, and merges ’like a zip’ with hops that are increasingly bitter in the finish. I’m not liking this as much as others, but still a very nice beer. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
