Aroma is amazing - pineapple juice, grapefruit, and a bit of syrupy malt characteristics. The taste is very smooth (minor carbonation). Taste is a bit of orange pith, some citrus, with a bitter finish. Very good, but nothing revolutionary to me. oakbluff (300), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 5, 2008 Sampled from bottle- pours a cloudy light orange, minimal soapy head. Nose- sweet candied fruit, light piney perfume. Taste- soapy juicy grapefruit rinds, light biscuity malts. Medium bodied hop delivery vehicle. Oily hops leave a dry finish with some orange aftertaste. Very good IPA Grovlam (3809), Copenhagen, Denmark

Somewhat cloudy golden amber color. Aroma of pineapple, grapefruit, peach, caramel, mild toasted malt. Quite nice and smooth with a twist of dry. Medium bodied with an average carbonation. Moderated bitter and sweet flavor. Lingering dry bitter fruity finish.

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 19, 2009 Bottle purchased from City Beer in SF. Pours a golden bronze color witha nice head and great lacing. The aroma is hoppy, but also somewhat mellow. Just a hint of the alcohol, but not near as strong smelling as other IPA’s. Tangy light citrus flavor. More of a "lighter" IPA mouthfeel. A nice overall IPA Skeets (24), Sacramento, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2008 On draft in beautiful San Diego. Golden-orange pour with a full, white head. beautiful, big hop aroma with citrus and pine in the foretaste. Finishes sweeter than the Russian River IPA. Very good beer! doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Feb 23, 2008 On-tap at Toronado 2/17/08. Pours a honey yellow color, frothy white head, some lace. Smells grassy hoppy, I didn’t think it was all that complex but I could be wrong. Tastes grassy, hoppy bitter. A bit resiny. Mouthfeel is thin, carbonation is somewhat subdued. Not as good as the Pliny’s but a good consolation prize. bennylava (83), California, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 16, 2009 At brewpub and in bottles. This is one bittler beer, and the hop flavor / bitterness really predominates. A slightly lesser beer compared to PtE because it is not as balanced. But if you strictly want a big pint of hops and bitterness, this is a great beer.
