| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Dark amber with fluffy white head. Extremey herby/woodsy and slightly fruity hoppy aroma. Nice bitter hop bite with overwhelming hop flavor. Tastes just like PLiny the Elder with a bite. lemasney (398), Trenton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Mar 2, 2009 gold body with a white head, very hoppy, flavors are sweet, washy, not bad, but surprisingly, not great, finishes very bitter, a bit chilly, which is killing flavor and aroma. | 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 26, 2009 Pours a very light amber with nice single finger white head. Aroma is candy sweetness and funky pine hop notes. Taste is far milder than I had assumed it would be. Words almost fail me right now. This beer is perfectly balanced. Definitely not too bitter, as many IPA’s seem to be more bitter than hop flavor focused. Bitterness still accumulates the more you drink it, but that can’t really be avoided in an IPA. The hop flavors are perfectly balanced by a nice, crisp amber malt taste. Very refreshing. This is one nice IPA. I wish that I’d bought more. twitcher (293), framingham, Massachusetts, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Bottle. Finally.
Pours a dull golden straw color with a solid inch of foamy white head that sticks around forever, lacing the hell out of the glass.
Nose starts with a big smack of grapefruit- noticeable from a foot or so away from the glass right after pour. Aroma follows with oranges and tangerines. Pungent, earthy, and fruity.
Flavor is immediately unique. Plenty of that fruit from the nose, with grapefruit taking the forefront as it often does. Earthy pine and resin notes fill out the hop profile. Superb bitterness-immediately aggressive, remains thoughout the flavor, never overpowering. Hop character overall shows an interesting flatness- tons of hops, but never overdone in any one aspect. Minimal sweetness or malt flavors, and the palate/finish are superbly dry and clean, with only lingering hints of bitterness.
One of the more unique, interesting, and well-done IPAs available. taalhiker (179), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Huge aroma of powerful hops. Full flavored ale with slightly oily aftertaste. Definitely in the West Coast style. chibbyman (19), kabul, Afghanistan

| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Apr 24, 2009 This beer is a hop party in my mouth! I was accustomed to RR’s big imperials, so I expected a much tamer hop taste to their regular old IPA. What I got was a brew with all the hop flavor and without the malty intensity of an IIPA. I’d love to taste this next to a DFH 60. It would be a brutal competition. Where is my dream pub with both on tap?
