Taste of caramel, toffee and plenty of hops. A really smooth and delicious IPA. Among the best I’ve ever had. Fantastically rich and smooth. Fratto (751), Arlington, Texas, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Dec 22, 2009 Bottle from Cavie. Same sickly yellow pour as Pliny, but the head is much bubblier. Aroma is big pine hops and citrus. Taste is a little bitter and off. Some grain flavor and a little hops. Cavie (1490), Fort Worth, Texas, USA

Smells very hoppy with sweet and sour hops present. Taste is large hops. Some sappy elements but mostly rough on the palate. This is really big for a standard IPA. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 17, 2009 Bottle: Very pale golden, moreso a darker straw, moderate to large frothy white head, nice lacing, light carbonation. Big strong floral hop aroma. Some citrus rind, very faint earthiness/soil. Tangy and tart on the tongue. Certainly hoppy but not overly biting. Bark is harsher than the bite, so to speak. Very flavorful. Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full. Finishes long, lingering hop smoothness with hints of soil and rind. Liked this one more than all their other examples.

Gorgeous yellow and not too clear to look thin. Taste and palate are incredible...big and intense flavors but soft and delicate at the same time. Lots of hop flavors but not harsh.....very smooth. Bottle: The aroma has lots of grapefruit along with mango and pineapple. It pours a transparent golden-orange with a small soapy white head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of mango. The finish has lots of grapefruit and light pine. Light-medium bodied with mild carbonation. mspindler (328), Alta Loma, California, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Bottle. Pours sparkling golden with a lasting 2 finger off white head. Aroma is pungent citrus and pine with a touch of fruity floral sweetness. Flavor is resinous, citrusy, pine, and a clean, surprisingly mild bitterness that lingers nicely. A slight malt backbone. Medium bodied and well carbonated. radagast83 (1315), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

Even upon opening I could smell a wonderful bouquet of floral hops and sweet malts. Poured a golden orange color with a fluffy, moderately fast declining head, was probably my pour. Later pours into my glass rendered only a small white head. Aroma is grassy, malty, with a wonderful, but not an overpowering hop hit. Flavor is a nice balance of citrus, pine, and malts.
