Deep reddish body with a very full white head. The aroma is of wet oak, acidic wine, and a hint of pepper. The carbonation is lively, but not too effervescent in the mouth. Taste is very vinous with oak, and light berry tastes playing in the background. Really refreshingly tart and well balanced. Another winner from RR.

It’s been awhile since I’ve visited the land of Russian River. When you visit, your stay is punctuated with beers that vary wildly but most, if not all, at the best of the best. Consecration is a beer that just keep the Russian River engine chugging along. Such a great, great beer.

The beer pours out a deep cherrywood/maroon/brick red color. Fizzy white head which dissipated quickly. Beautiful coloring. Aroma has a strong funky red wine angle hitting you in both nostrils head on. Fresh orchard cherries, wet dirt and the vinous notes really take it to an extraordiniary level. Flavor has the deep sour berry/cherry notes, tannic, peppery wood and bitter black grape skin. Just.....yeah.

Poured a deep brown and a tad ruddy. The head was minimal and diminished almost immediately. Very lively carbonation. There was a strong dominate vinuous aroma which was really quite amazing. Some sweet sugars and dark fruits were noticeable as well. The taste was delicately sour and some sweet fruit came through as the currants presented themselves. There was a bit of a horseblanket/barnyard quality that added a very unique quality to the beer. The finish was where the sourness was really amplified and felt. This beer tended to be vinous, deep, complex, and with a bit of a wild and untamed characteristic; and of course, sour. This was one of those beer experiences I didn’t want to end. I was sitting out under the stars on my new deck just watching the clouds gently roll on by. My little girl was sitting next to me while eating some chips and I was enjoying this. For a moment, life was at peace and rest. Extremely enjoyable.

Rating 1,000. Consumed in the always enjoyable company of JCB, emacgee, and TURDFERGUSON. Pours reddish purple-brown with nice carbonation fizzing to the top into a beige head that stayed around, albeit small. Tart, sour acetic nose, with currants, blackberries, lemon, sour oak, more freshly cut twig flavors, tannins, and sweetness. Tastes surprisingly bitter/tannic with the currants really coming out. Unique mix of bitter and sour. Not my favorite RR sour, but a tasty beer.

bottle poured into a snifter has a deep brown red color and a fizzy white head with nice carbonation pooling at the surface. aroma has vinous red wine sourness, oak, dark cherry, currant, and tons of delicious funk. crisp mouth feel with nice prickly carbonation at the side of the tongue. flavor has plenty of sourness, rich red wine character, dark berry, oak, currant, and tobacco. this is perhaps the most dry beer i have tried thus far. acidity is kept in check and the alcohol at 10% is warming but incredibly hidden. truly outstanding!
