Beautiful crimson pour with a fluffy eggshell head that diminishes into a small ring. Great carbonation...hundreds of tiny bubbles fighting to be the first to the top of the glass. Aroma is cabernet wine, balsamic vinegar, oak and vanilla. Flavor is both ripe and unripened dark fruit, tart and tangy along with a natural sweetness. There isn’t any artificial or cloying here. Extremely drinkable. A truly great beer. GMCC2181 (858), Bear/Elkton, Delaware, USA

Black dark red in color, nice little head that stuck around. Sour/tart aroma, also maybe a red wine and oak on the nose. Taste is a bittersweet tartness to it. Easy to drink, light in texture. Overall Good beer, Since I am not a sour fan, I wouldnt buy or seek out this beer but I did enjoy drinking it pineypower (1093), Pine Barrens, New Jersey, USA

Aroma is very tart with berries, some oak, and earthy notes. Taste is complex. Sharp tart cherries, oak, earthy notes, currant, and s tart/sour finish, definitely over the top sour but thats not a bad thing. tpd975 (97), Riverview, Florida, USA

A: Pours a brillant amber hue that is flat in color and appearence. No head at all with zero lace. Good for the style.
S: The aromas are bold and big on wine. Tons of sour red fruit with hints of sweet tarts, funk, and cherry juice. Inviting.
T: The sweet tarts come thru as does a bit of crushed aspirin. Beneath that is a wonderful mix of red fruit that is heavy on the cherries. Winey sourness pushes thru along with bits of wood, and vineous qualities. Yummy.
M: Medium in body, a bit sharp on the tongue with a dry finish.

Aroma of raspberries, currants, vanilla, oak, leather, and wild yeast. Taste of sour cherry pit, more currants, some vanilla, sour fruits, dry, woody oak, and wild yeast, with a lengthy sour finish. dmac (1449), Toms River, New Jersey, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Draft at Capones. Wow is this lip puckering tart. Aroma of sour cherries, oak, vinegar, slight underlying honey notes. One of the tartest most sour tasting beers I have ever had...loads of sour cherry married with oak. Simply awesome if you like sours. DalzAle (486), Eden Prairie, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 29, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown/black pour, tons of carbonation. Aroma was very very good tart sour cherry aroma (would be happy smelling this all night!) Flavor was sour apple, cherries a little woody and finished with a sweet tart aftertaste. An very good beer? Absolutely. Although I don’t quite understand all the hype around it.
