Flavor is an explosion of tart currant, cider, barnyard and some great funky notes. Finish is dry and tart with some lingering plum and Green apple. Vigerous tan head. Aroma is tart tropical fruit with lots of currant, plum, raisin, and fig. A bit of a funk character and some leather sneak in as well. Flavor is sweet nectar, currant and tart apple cider. Dark fruit malt character is also quite prevalent, though with a funky tart twist. Palate is full, rich, and prickly with a puckery finish...amazing. jrob21 (1263), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Dark red pour with almost no head or carbonation. Ridiculous fruit aroma dominated by cherry and other red fruits. Very pungent mouth feel at first that fades into a smooth woody fruity flavor. Finish is slightly alcoholic. Other than the first burst of tartness there is not much else to remind you this is a sour beer. Get a lot of fruit flavors and malt after the initial tartness. Very entertaining beer but I don’t think I could drink more than one. First time I ever experienced a distinct upset stomach from a sour beer. craftycarl21 (547), South Hero, Vermont, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 6, 2009 Batch 1. Dark brown pour with blood red tints. Aroma is excellent; currant, cherry, dark fruit, and a bit of mango as well, with the classic sour, vinegar and musty notes from the brett. Flavor is incredible; tartness hits almost immediately, and gradually smooths out to a sweet and delicious finish. Taste is much more fruity than bretty, with notes of apple cider, plum, and some lighter fruit notes as well. Palate is also really really nice; not too aggressive with the sourness. Awesome brew. sigx97 (12), USA

Very strong, sour and purposeful. If it weren’t for my recent education in sour beers, I probablty wouldn’t have enjoyed it, but Consecration is certainly an acute example of an aged sour brew. If you like sour beers, you will LOVE this beer! Over-the-top, balls-to-the-wall, you better be sitting down. tgncc (814), Bellmore, New York, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 3, 2009 Rating #1400. Bottle brought home from RR by hallinghansen. Thank you so much for sharing this Jacob! Hazy reddish brown with a steady medium off white head. Very complex aroma of berries, cherry, strawberry, light acid and light balsamicco. Flavour is cherry, blackcurrant, acid, funk, oak and a snatch of sweet caramel. Lovely creamy texture. The 10% ABV is very well hidden. Good job on this sour flemish like beer.
