Commercial Description:
We turned our regular Damnation recipe into a Tripel. It is bittered with Tomahawk and has Sterling and Cascade in the mid-boil and finish. The beer was then aged on new American oak chips for two to three weeks.

Bottle @ O’Brien’s. Poured hazy gold with a thick, foamy white head. Some lacing on the goblet. Lovely sweet French oak barrel, Belgian yeast, cloves, and lots of lighter fruits (apples, grapes, peaches). Effervescent mouthfeel, very light. Compliments the flavor nicely. Sweet peaches and white grapes up front, even sweeter yeast and malt. Nive vanilla/clove spice combo, close to what you may find in a trippel. The oak gives this a flavor far different than the usual Damnation. It is still sweet, but the slight earthiness keeps this from being sickening. Dry finish. Great beer.

Bottle. Poured a slightly cloudy blond with a thin head. Belgian yeast and cookie dough nose. What happens when you take a great beer and age it with oak chips, it just gets that much better. This is a really nice belgian style triple that has depth, complexity, and is delicious. The malt base of the Russian River beers just really works for my palate. Nice dried fruit flavors and some spice make this a beer to rival those from across the pond.

Aroma is very light clove, with esters and fruits in there. Pours an amber, just a little darker than Damnation. Flavor is sweet, with notes of clove, peppercorns and some tannins. Doughy flavors, as well as sugar highlight this beer. Ends on a sweet note. Shit they should make this ALL the time!

From bottle (at bottling facility gatherhing). Pours bronze, slight hazy, with subtle aroma of dough and mineral. Flavor of dense syurp and crystal malty goodness with some oak matched by medium body and a longer finish. Bold and crisp for a tripel.

My first beer of the night last time I was at the T Room. Tap. Smells and tastes harder than any Tripel ever should. I call this a Belgian Strong, for sure. The wood is totally hidden for me, only imparting the color of the barrel - if that makes any sense. Really petrified fruit (barely), bitter hops and the suggestion of yeast. Kinda heavy. Kind of a chore...

Courtesy of cbkschubert @ Hellbilly’s Hellraiser 3.0...THANKS CRAIG!!! Hazy yellow pour; 14 karat with a soft eggshell head. Aroma is peppery, Belgian yeast, and raw wood. Flavor is oak, cedar, and pine...definitely barrel-forward along with spice and biscuit. A little banana, natural sugars, and vanilla. Pretty solid.

Bottle of the new one. Nice deep orange pour with small white head. Aroma is sweet banana / bubblegum, some sugar, apricot and syrup. Flavor is the same, dense and fruity, and only some light wet wood flavor underneath and in the finish. Good amount of spice in the finish as well.

On tap at the brewpub. Vibrant golden pour with a pencil thin white head. Very fruity aroma, much candi sugar as well. Sugared flavor with some apples and a yeasty feel and some spiciness. The oak does not really come through at all, but neither does the alcohol. A pleasant beer but I honestly enjoyed the 22 more.
