Commercial Description:
We turned our regular Damnation recipe into a Tripel. It is bittered with Tomahawk and has Sterling and Cascade in the mid-boil and finish. The beer was then aged on new American oak chips for two to three weeks.

750 ml bottle sampled at "An Evening with Pantanap #1": thanks to kan for a chance to try this. Pours a golden orange with an off white head. Nose is yeasty and funky with florals and citrus. Creamy sweet flavors. Vanilla, orange, spice, pepper. Tangy and overly sweet.

750mL bottle, courtesy of eclectic. Thanks, Kevin! Pours a cloudy, dull whitish-yellow color; whitish head with patchy lacing. Dense, boozy yeast and yellow fruit and dough in the aroma; slightly warming. Pleasant mouthfeel: dense Belgian sugar and toasty vanilla and warm, biscuity malts; lively carbonation; nice toasty oak and vanilla presence; a very different beer from the standard Damnation, and a bit more intricate and pleasant. Lengthy, yeasty and belgian sugar finish; dry.

Poured from a 750. Clear, tinny yellow appearance. Butter, clove, spruce, and alcohol in a syrupy aroma; late hints of graham and sesame seed. Flavor suffers under the weight of its heat; quiet sparks of mint, lemonade and pepper flash momentarily only to be quickly extinguished by the tranquilizing force of honey and alcohol. Still, this is not offensively overpowering, however damaging it is to the complexity of the broader picture, rendering it uninteresting in its basic presentation. Brisk in the mouth, while heavy. Spice and dry wood finish; cardamom and oak. Warm, somewhat difficult, and perhaps slightly overdone. Thanks for sharing, Kevin!

Sure wish my wife hadn’t drank half the bottle. Aroma of sweet candied, citrus fruits. Orange, dried pineapple and banana. Some spice. Very aromatic. Pours a murky yellow/orange with a thin white head. Excellent balance of dry and tart yeas and candied sweet fruit on the palate. Just a hint of lactic sourness. Slightly floral . Medium to full bodied. Creamy. Lively carbonation. Finishes with a nice tartness. This stuff better start to get distributed in Minnesota, or I’m going to have to do a lot more trades with Richard because my wife wants more of this beer.

Sweet and oak forward nose with a touch of almond blossom and vanilla. Very sweet upfront with a big vanilla and spice component. Slightly honeyed on the palate. Sweet and spicy finish with a touch of citrus zest.

Big thanks to MikeTD for this badboy. Hazy orange pour, medium white head. Aroma is earthy and phenolic belgian yeast. Flavor is spicy. Orange, coriander, clove, honey, cinnamon and a touch of nutmeg. Sweet sugary, floral, perfumy, it’s all there. A big spicy phenolic sugary taste to sum it up. A touch of wood in the aftertaste but I think it brings out different flavors rather than just oak. Full mouthfeel, lots of carbonation, full on belgian. As it warms the oak sourness does come out more.
