Commercial Description:
We turned our regular Damnation recipe into a Tripel. It is bittered with Tomahawk and has Sterling and Cascade in the mid-boil and finish. The beer was then aged on new American oak chips for two to three weeks.

Batch 46. On tap at Monk’s cafe on 5/13/09. Pours clear golden, capped with a big white head. Aroma of wheat, banana clove, yeast, and overripe fruit. Flavor follows suit, with wheat, clove, spice, citrus (especially orange and grapefruit), somewhat resiny hops and some woody undertones. Finishes with wheat, hops, and some alcohol. Medium bodied and incredibly drinkable. This is a really nice tripel, I’m really happy that I got to try it on draft.

Wow this beer was given to me by Vinnie at the brewery. THNKS VINNIE this is a great beer and far outdoes the regular batch. Great drinkibality from all aspects and I can’t say enough about this beer. I pull so many flavors out with each taste and it changes. Wood notes hops orange zest all blended perfectly to achieve bliss in a bottle! This one hides the alcohol well and is dangerously drinkable! Another awesome one from one of today’s masters!

Bottle thanks to bu11zeye. The look is cloudy, golden in color, with a decent off white head. The smell is fruits, sweet, yeast, some brett, alcohol, spice, and wood. The taste is yeast, fruits, sweet, oak, alcohol, and pure goodness.

750ml caged and corked bottle (Batch 46) served in a tulip. This poured a lightly hazed golden orange hue with a one-finger thick head of beige foam that settled into a lasting cap. Minimal lacing. The aroma included orange peel, honey, oak, mild hoppy citrus, and some bready yeast. The flavor was initally sweet with a dry, woody finish. Notes of dried orange peel, apricot, and honey. Also some bread and a trace of alcohol. Big, full-bodied mouthfeel. Lightly carbonated. Well made and highly drinkable, especially considering the 11% ABV.

Draught at Monk’s: Aroma of slight wood, yeast, slight fruit, light alcohol, and oak. Poured golden/amber/yellow in color with a medium-sized, creamy, dense white head that lasted throughout. Slightly hazy. Slightly sparkling. Good lacing. Lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of light alcohol, yeast, wood, slight bourbon, oak, and a hot spice. Light to medium body. Oily, dry texture. Soft to average carbonation. Spicy, dry finish. 11%ABV is totally hidden. Dangerously drinkable.

Bottle from Mounment in Concord, CA. Poured a dark golden color, lighter than expected. Sweet taste like candied sugar. Smooth from beginning to end.

Batch 46 @ Monk’s. Nice golden color with a pleasant aroma of citrus, banana, mild hops, and some sweetness. Flavor is pleasant with a good deal of candi sugar, oranges, and mild spice - oak is not too prominent, but tames the excessive sweetness of most tripels. Nice feel and finish. Above average for the style.
