Commercial Description:
We turned our regular Damnation recipe into a Tripel. It is bittered with Tomahawk and has Sterling and Cascade in the mid-boil and finish. The beer was then aged on new American oak chips for two to three weeks.

Original Batch 23 provided by bu11zeye. My 1700th rating. Pours with a creamy white head bubbling away over a hazy gold body that you cannot see through. Really great lacing. Aroma is oak, vanilla, spice, honey biscuit, a few dried fruits, and wood. Taste is sweet but finishes dry with oak, vanilla, pear, honey and a bit of caramel (or almost bourbon). Syrupy consistency with light carbonation. A bit of alcohol, but well hidden for 11%. A great beer! I need to get a bottle of the new Batch 46!

Pours gold with a thin white head. Smells of spice, citrus, oaky, dry. Tastes sweet and citrusy with some oakiness and a bit of clove, grass, hay emerging on the finish. Enjoyable.

Bottle generously traded to me by Taverner. Thanks man! Fantastic aromas of yeasty spice, citrus sweetness, and subtle woody oak notes. Pours golden orange with great big bubbles and a fantastic head with sticky lacing. Flavors are initially somewhat sweet pear, green apples, dusty notes, a nice citrus bitterness, spicy yeast notes, and a subtle dryness from the oak chips that really works well to round this one out. Nice bubbly mouth feel, seemed richer and fuller to me than many other tripels. Had no clue this was 11%, that would probably explain why I was a little drunk afterwards. Would not have been able to tell at all.

batch 23 bottle shared by cbkschubert...

cloudy yellow-orange shade of brown with a small white ring of a head. there’s an odd bubblegum aroma that initially jumps out at me... followed by fresh oranges, citrus blossoms, pale grain, yeast and a bit of woody spice. i dreaded sipping this for fear of it being too sweet (bastard sweet tripels!) but was pleasantly surprised... especially given the abv% and how it is not masked with sugar yet well hidden. flavors of ripe d’anjou pear, clove, cinnamon, pale maltiness, warming yeast and vanilla with a dry almost herbaceous finish. medium to full body has some substance and richness from the yeast(?).8/4/8/4/18/4.2

Bottle shipped from Ryan just in time to share with the Carolina Crew. This was the beer of the night for me, possibly due in part to its lighter flavors in contrast to the big impy stouts and barleywines. Hazy deep golden pour with foamy white head. Peppery, fruity, and yeasty. Nice citrus notes and the oak was really subtle. Not overdone at all. Nice dry finish. Damn good.

Bottle from Monument in Concord, CA. This beer tasted a lot like La Fin Du Monde by Unibroue, although I felt it had a little bit more alcohol burn. Full, dry, and tasty... Great beer!
