Jun 3, 2009 On draft at the Iron Abbey in Horsham. Aroma of yeast, spice, peach/apricot, and malts. Flavor had a light fruity taste witth the spice kicking in and a pale malt backing all finishing up with a dry and mildly bitter hop. A really fine Belgian style done right. Very enjoyable.

Jun 2, 2009 found 2 bottles at bevmo randomly and snatched them right up! pours a beautiful peach color with a slightly ivory head that is light and proportional. aroma has hints of apricot, spice and even a subtle vanilla. it tastes very crisp and refreshing, great beer for the middle of a hot day. it has just a fleeting belgian yeast kick to it, excellent incorporation without ’champagning’ the beer. a very balanced blend of many subtle notes combined just right. the palate is very clean and light, especially considering the alcohol content. you could put a bottle of this back very easily and be caught off guard. this is a very well balanced clean beer that is very enjoyable. just outstanding for a golden ale.

Jun 1, 2009 On tap at Taphouse Bellevue. Pours a plain translucent yellow, little head. Very strong citrusy aroma. As expected, a bit sour with the RR brett present, however, it has an odd flavor profile with cloves and bananas and a very strange sour finish. Not the best RR I’ve had.

May 31, 2009 Poured a clear golden color, with a thick white head. Aroma was very spicy, some fantastic Belgian yeast notes and a good sweet malt undercurrent. The spiciness on the nose of this thing was incredible. Ijust wanted to sit there and smell it. Fortunately the flavor is just as wonderful. The spice maintains, but theres a nice sweet kick added by the malt, and it finishes very clean. This is fantastic Belgian Style ale.

May 30, 2009 Nicely carbonated with a nice golden color. Clean flavor to the beer, refreshing. This would be a great beer at the end of a summer’s day.

May 29, 2009 750 ml caged bottle thanks to Bill, batch 44. Though, it is a bit confusing that it has the number 23 on the front label. Anyway, pours a clear golden color with a nice thick white head. The aroma is rich Belgian Strong Ale notes; bananas, yeast, sweet malts and light citrus. The flavor is similar; sweet bananas and malts, crisp citrus and lots of yeast. Fairly dry and easygoing with a fizzy mouthfeel. Nice.

May 25, 2009 Pours a nice bright golden color with a white head which become a nice lacing. aroma of Apple, Banana, Citrus, Carmel, and yeast. flavor is a ltittle tart and include apple, banana, citrus, earth hops, and yeast. mouthfeel is medum with a bit of alchool. overall, a very flavorful but drinkable belgian storng ale.

May 22, 2009 Sampled at the Ohio group tasting on DLD eve ’09. Batch 023, I think. Cloudy amber pour with a thin white head. Aroma of banana yeast and sweet malt. Balanced flavor of malty caramel, fruity yeast and a bit of tartness.
