Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

750 bottle batch 16. Pours bright gold with a big, white, fluffy head. Very carbonated with macro type bubbles. Nose is a bit bretty, with spices coming through. Tangy and citrusy flavor with the brett horseblanket taste light on the palate. Girlfriend says it reminds her of a chopinho beer from Brazil. OK. Very easy to drink though a bit thin and the alcohol is completely hidden. I poured the yeast in the glass at the end. It gave it a thicker, richer flavor. Overall a nice Belgian single.

Blond; eggshell white sticky head. Aroma - indistinct malt, yeast. Standard Belgian blonde flavor profile. Fruity esters. Fluffy feel. Semi-dry finish. In a nutshell, 750 is too much, and in fact this becomes kind of a drag towards the end.

On tap at The Falling Rock Tap House in Denver, slight hazy honey gold hue, with a small white head, yeasty, fruity candied orange, lemon peel nose, with spicy cinnamon, clove accents, with a honeyed pale malt note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, sweet honeyish pale malt , fruity character of stewed apples, candied lemon peels, apricots with a flowery hop citrusy accent, with a pinch of spiciness, leading towards a mild honey, fruity, zesty, lingering hop bitterness finish.

Poured from 750 ml a nice hazy orange forming a nice craggley foam head. Aroma of yeast spices, malted funk goodness. Flavour was of rock candied apricots, banana cream and earthy wet grasses that end with a particular funk. Sweet malts line this wonderful beer, which balance the end. Exceptional beer.

On tap at RR. Nice golden color, tastes of straw/hay, finish is too dry for me. Re-rate 1/16/08 from 3 yr old 750ml bottle, batch 009. Nice lacing, and slightly peppery and dry finish. up from 3.3.
