Commercial Description:
In the great beer producing country of Belgium, some brewers have made it a tradition to give their beers an unusual name. Sometimes the name is curious, now and then it is diabolical and other times it is just plain silly. Damnation is our brewmaster’s interpretation of a Belgian style Strong Golden Ale. It has extraordinary aromas of banana and pear with mouth filling flavors of sweet malt and earthy hops. The lingering finish is dry and slightly bitter but very, very smooth.

On draft at the GL. Pours a slightly hazy orange gold with a small white head. Aroma of cloves, banana chips and light spice. Taste is very similar to the aroma. Spicy with hints of cloves and bananas.

Brewed in the USA. On tap at Capones. Pours a nice golden color with a small white lasting head. Aroma of yeast, funk, and spices. The taste is of spices, funk, and wheat. Also there is some nice carbonation. Not bad.

Clear golden yellow pour with a nice white microbubbly head. Lots of carbonation. Very spicy aroma with clove and banana. Funky yeast notes. Dry refreshing spicy flavor. Banana and fruity notes. Hop and alcohol finish. Good and refreshing, but nothing special.

On tap at Capones. Light gold body topped by a fluffy white head. Yeasty esters dominate the nose as well as some light spice. Taste is fruity, yeastiness, spice. Pretty good.

Bottle into chalice, batch 041. Pours hazy gold, with an effervescent white head. Nose is yeasty, a bit of pear and apricot, with a creamy sweetness underneath. Flavor is front-loaded with a big yeast presence – tangy and a bit dry, with golden fruit notes coming out again. Finish dries up a bit more, some more yeast, some alcohol esters as well. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft, but with a bit of crispness, medium bodied. Really nice beer – one of those that gets better the farther into the bottle you get.

Color is a bright gold with good carbonation and a small white head. Aroma is a fruity Belgian yeast scent with a faint skunk note in the back. Taste is smooth, fruity and spicy. Starting with a light/medium body it goes down smooth. Finish comes in with a fruity taste that is almost peach like with vanilla and yeast notes then a hint of coriander and clove. After taste is clean with just a touch of bitterness. Overall I think its a great Belgian style Golden Ale.

Bottle from Brewtopia. Light gold/yellow color, that is cloudy. Aoma is somewhat hoppy, funky, yeast, and some spices. Flavor is yeasty, fruity, malty with a nice dose of hops as well. Not bad at all.
