| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 2, 2009 This one seems normal, but then takes off with a zesty odd main flavor. Some sort of savory / spice / earthy note is far stronger than any hop flavor (although the taste probably came from hops, but oh well). Not my favorite, but well worth a pint. badlizard (2386), Berkeley, California, USA

Pours a bright, clear, golden-orange color; off-white head with fine-bubbled lacing that coats everything. Nicely dry aroma of biscuity malts and well-balanced, earthy and mineral bitterness. Medium mouthfeel: toasty, biscuity malts, nicely dry at the core, coupled to an earthy and mineral hop character; nicely put-together, highly drinkable English-bittered ale. Medium finish: minerals, earthy bitterness, and pervasive toastiness; nicely dry end.
