375mL bottle, Batch 001, courtesy of Schroppfy. Thanks! Pours a cloudy yellow-orangish color; small, off-white head. Tart, floral aroma: hints of sour cherries. Medium-to-full mouthfeel: tart cherries, hints of butter, warm maltiness underneath; slightly restrained brett and flavor profile. Medium, tart and citrus finish.

Bottle from RR online. Thanks Vinnie and Natalie! First Batch. I feel truly blessed to be able to drink two different RR brews in the same week. This one poured a brilliant hazy orange with no head but a nice, thin white lace surrounds my wine glass. Aroma includes, but not limited to, some musty funk, citrus, definite brett, lacto, and pedi (as if i can ID the different microorganisms), granny smith apple skins, white grapes. Flavor is obviously funky with notes of vinegar, olives, an acute lactic acid sharpness, and some sparkling apple and grape juice/cider. Refreshingly tart, funky, and oh so nice after another long day at Cellz Direct.

Big thanks to KenB for this via Mystery Swap 2.0. Pours turbid orangy dark straw colored with fizzy, loud, 1-finger whitish head. Aroma of citrus, white grapes, funky Bretty notes...a rather gueuezy smell, actually, with a lot of homology to the Cantillon stuff. The taste is tart, but not as mouth puckering as the Cantillon stuff, with flavor notes of gueuezy funky tangeriney/grapefruity citrus, white grapes, earthy yeast, and some candi sugar. Complex palate that remains moderately to highly carbonated.

Batch 001. Thanks Ross, you always hook a brotha up, biatch! Pours murky golden with a small white head. Nice mildly sour aroma, with notes of white wine and green apples. Nice delicate mouthfeel. The beer is well balanced, with flavors of grapes, white wine, malt, oak, and lemon. The sweetness and tartness are not aggressive, and play perfectly into this beer. Finishes acidic with a white wine tannic texture, along with some faint clove and peppercorn. I really enjoy Vinnie’s beers, and this is no exception. They are complex with out being huge or overbearing on the palate. I can’t wait to open my Supplication. Thanks again Ross. This was a treat.

Batch 001 from the Russian River store. I always feel privledged to get to try a new Russian River and this was no exception. I think its the first batch 1 I have had from them. This one pours out a light golden color with a faint white head on it. The aroma is fruity, some tart notes, grapes, and some white wine notes. The taste is smooth and tart, slightly sour but very nicely blended with the white wine barrels. Nice little smooth grape flavor as well. A very inviting beer, rich and fruity, and really good all around. Glad I have a few more of these to pull out this summer.

batch 001 bottle via trade with Ken B, many thanks. Arrived today, and I could not wait to crack this open. Pours orange and opaque with a thin bright white dissapating head. The aroma is vinious, tart, sour and invinting. The taste certainly has a grape character and feels wine like but is nice and sour along the edges. This is delicious, another great BA ale from RR, damn this is good.

Poured a hazy amber color with a small, white head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of sweet grapes, funky, barnyardy, citrus, and toffee. Taste of more grapes, citrus, melon, with sweet toffee, vanilla, and a lingering sour finish. Awesome, beer, on par with Temptation and Supplication. Big thanks to Mike for this one!

Batch 001 Consumed fresh. The pour is golden with orange highlights. Head is a thick creamy white ring. Aroma is initially sour with a sweetness that appears later in the breath. The flavor is full of sourness up front, but its the lingering sweetness that makes this interesting. A delicate beer wrapped in a refreshing, sour punch. 7/3/8/4/18

Batch 001. Bottled 2/2006 and consumed 5/2009. A little over 3 years old. Pours an effervescent gold with no head. Tons of bubbles, like soda. Aroma is sweet and tart with a great amount of funk. Pear and apples, really bright and attractive. Flavors are complex, but bright and exceptionally refreshing. Russian River can rival anything from Belgium.
