Commercial Description:
In celebration of Bottleworks 9th Anniversary, we are proud to present Deviation - a beer unique in every sense. This remarkable blend combines the oak aged diversity of PHI, Orphan Ale, and Sonambic Ale with 100% Brettanomyces Ale (Sanctification) and is bottle conditioned with additional Brettanomyces. Thanks Vinnie. Your beer is a testament to the art of deviation. 6.83%

First beer of a four beer session (Deviation, Leleenau Good Harbor Golden, Synergy, The Dissident).

Insane nose; prickly with hay, diaper, lemon, funky balsa wood. Pours incredibly dark reddish bronze in color, with sustained small head and compact bubbles. Wonderful acidic balance of a lactic bracing fruitiness -- layers of peach skin and fermenting melon flavors -- with acetic puckering in moderate amounts.

Thought I could taste an aceticness like La Folie but I was more than likely a suggestive subject. Fantastic beer all around. Thanks Geoff.

finally, a Bottleworks anniversary beer that was not only palatable, but downright spectacular!!! Hazy orange sour grapefruit aroma. Mouth puckering sour grapefruit body with a sour finish. A faint oakiness in there as well. Sampled at Dr. Bill’s tasting.

750ml Bottle: Tart aroma. Smells of tart fruit, Brett, oak, acid, and light spices. Poured amber/apple juice in color with a small white head. Sparkling. Hazy. Aroma is very sour and tart. Tastes of tart fruits, oak, and lemon. Medium body. Dry, puckering texture. Lively carbonation. Tart, dry finish.

Bottle. Amber beer with a low off-white head. Nice sour acetic aroma with oak and a light fruitiness. Acetic (but not over the top) flavor with oak and soft malt to round. Some green apple notes as well. Medium body. Acetic not lingers nicely. Brett shows nicely in combo with the acetic quality.

Bottle opened post Belgian Beer fest in ME. Wow what an awesome creation. A sour dry puckering fruit infusion of lemon citrus and sour apples. Brett and simply put by BK at the time "its just sour", and whats not to love about that, i couldn’t find much. 4.4 Wow all i know is i had this one a second time and this is freaking great! 4.5-4.6 per my notes. Awesome brew.

Notes from Hair of the Dog Dave Tasting. Pour is golden copper with small white head. Yeasty aroma with some sour funk and fruit notes too. Sour taste but not overpowering. Nicely carbonated and lasting finish.

(750ml bottle) Thanks to Enniskillen for sharing. Pours a thin, white frothy head with a cloudy brown body. Nose of a geueze. Very tart. Grape skin, vinegar, white wine. Reminds me of Drie Fonteinen Oude Geuze. 9/5/9/5/18
