Apr 6, 2009 Growler from the brewpub! Sterling hops. Nose has citrus hops with a hints of pine and flowers. Lightly hazy orange with a big pale yellow head that nices laces the glass. Flavor is moderate bitterness and a little caramel. Finish is nicely lingering bitterness.

Jan 30, 2005 (Draft: O’Brien’s in San Diego, CA) The flavor is hoppy and moderately bitter, but with very little malt for balance, but I suppose that is intentional to showcase the hops. The light malt flavor is grainy, but I couldn’t taste it until I took a big mouthful. The finish is quite bitter. With the light malt presence, the light to medium body isn’t surprising, but the beer does seems a bit flat to me. Fresh hops nose is very nice. Medium gold in color and slightly hazy, but the beer looks totally still. White head pours to a quarter-inch in height and slowly fades to a sheen, leaving some patchy lacing here and there. It’s an okay beer, and I understand what Vinnie is doing here, but I’m not a fan of purely hoppy beers.

Apr 14, 2009 Tap at the brewpub: (Sterling was used at the time of my visit) Light yellow golden pour with a dense white film. Soft citrus hop aroma. Twiggy, clean with some hay notes. Creamy body. Balanced flavor with some mild nutty malt undertones that mesh with a clean hoppy flavor. Mildly resiny with a tannic AA finish. A nice session (that tasted like it had no hops in it after PTE)

Feb 1, 2005 Pours with a deep golden body topped by a thick, creamy head with a good amount of lacing. Wow, it’s hoppy as hell in both the aroma and flavor. Bitter piney notes prevail over slightly sweet grapefruit notes and a slight flowery note. The aroma is a little green with grainy notes. Medium to full bodied and slightly dry.

Mar 26, 2009 On tap at brewery. Nice crisp citrus taste well balanced with a semi dry finish. Quite good.

Mar 20, 2005 Tap @ Catos in Oakland. A godlen color with a white head. I initially tried this after taking in a sip of Pliny the Younger and thought this was water. After a little time and cleaning the palate, the hops came through. Not a strong PA but easy to drink and enjoyable. A little thin with a dry grainy malt finish on the palate.

Apr 13, 2009 Nice amber gold with a nice white head. Aroma is an initial pine hoppiness, followed by fruit, and a fresh hop like accent. Taste is a straight forward hoppiness with little depth to it, light alcohol, some honey like sweetness.
