usbadass (17), Massachusetts, USA Jan 5, 2008 Pours a pale yellow beer with a thin layer of white bubbles. Fast moving carbonation. Very fruity smelling IPA, citrusy orange and grapefruit rind. Crisp on the palate, nice malt sweeness and a nice citrus fruity hop bitterness. The finish is light and pine-like. Great! merlin48 (507), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA Nov 16, 2006 Growler pours a hazed amber body topped by a small, but sturdy, head. Aroma of pink grapefruit and pine resin complimented by other citrusy esters like tangerine. Palate is excellent, with chewy, sticky, and resinous hops. Body is medium full. Restrained bitterness to taste, pink grapefruit and tangerine accented by citrus peel. A fresh vegetal note that seems like catnip or cannabis. Very dry, bitter, clean, and hoppy. A unique experience! SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA Nov 6, 2006 On draft at O’Briens for the Wet Hop Festival. Slightly hazed golden-amber color in the glass with a creamy off-white head and spotty lace. Fresh hop aroma, nice citrus and flroal notes, malts emerge from the background with a mostly fruity character along with a light toastiness as well. Delicous fruity and caramel malt flavors, citrus, bitter herbs and hints of pine in the hops as well as lemon and cedar bark in the finish. Smooth creamy body with gentle carbonation. Very nice. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Nov 5, 2006 Updated: Apr 4, 2008Tap, O’Brien’s Wet Hop Fest. Pours an amber color strongly leaning towards orange. Some traces of red. Pine hop character. Somewhat spicy. Kind of sweet. Some creaminess. Bitter cream finish. marcus (1821), Sacramento, California, USA Oct 30, 2006 On tap at Toronado. This golden ale poured with a thin off-white head. The hops are quite evident, but not overwhelming, and there is a clean citrus taste. There is a carbonated mouthfeel with a sharp hop bite and a long taste of pine at the finish. Very satisfying. cb (809), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA Nov 22, 2005 Gorgeous golden hue crowned with lasting dense foam. Wonderfully juicy aromatic hop bud aroma with touches of cereal and tender leafy shoots along with the essence of grapefruit pith. Full, hoppy, crisp, succulent nose. The most amazing aspect of this sensational beer is the finish ~ full, sweet and the right touch of bitter pine...for a full 5 minutes after you’ve swallowed. auto (161), California, USA Nov 7, 2005 great flavour weak thin palate and weak appearance. overall a good beer bacuaese of the flavour. definitley an enjoyable beer for reals. i’ll drink this any time any day ChillCoat (1029), Concord, California, USA Sep 25, 2005 Updated: Sep 27, 2005On Tap at the brew pub. Light orange color with a white head. Big hop aromas as you might imagine. Tons of grapefruit, oranges and pine. Just a bit of grassiness but not too much. Thin on the malt side but I think it suits this beer well. Afterall, it’s about the hops right? Call me crazy but I really buy into the fresh hops idea; the beer has very ‘fresh’ flavors to it, it’s very clean and easily grasped despite being so hop focused. Fruity aftertaste.
