Nice medium pine hop aroma. Taste is solid pine hoppiness. It has just the slightest malty sweetness to go along with the hops. Tasty IPA. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2006 A much cleaner hop character than blind pig. That seems to fool many palate into thinking it not as hoppy. Much preferable to me than the Blind Pig. Clean inviting hop bitterness that is artfully balanced with a very pleasing nose. Round crisp and dry on the palate it is a mercedes to the Blind pigs muscle car. patrick767 (2033), fort wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2006 tap at the brewpub - This IPA isn’t as hoppy as their Blind Pig. It has some citrus and a mild pine note in the aroma. There’s a good malt balance in the flavor and the 6.5% is well concealed. The hops don’t seem quite as crisp and just plain good as the Blind Pig, but it’s still pretty good. pivo (2535), Germany
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 29, 2006 Hop aroma and taste that is big and bold, of course. Amber color, low lathery head. Soft sweet bready malt base that is fairly large and certailnly supports the hops. Just an all-around classic IPA. Good stuff. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2006 On tap at Hollingshead Deli. Pours a transparent hue of honeyed tangerines topped off with a generous portion of gleaming white, sudsy head. Pleasant west coast hop aroma without being overdone. Refreshing wafts of fresh orange zest and white grapefruit juice provide a nice clean citrusy perfume for my enjoyment on this hot summer day. Medium bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel with a cleansing hoppy palate wash. Balanced flavors of white grapefruit flesh and honey provide the bulk of the palate notes. Very nice, clean, well-contructed west coast IPA. Not exceedingly unique, but stylistically impressive. bu11zeye (5470), Frisco, Texas, USA
